Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Leave Nairobi and transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve
After pickup by your assigned driver-guide, you will leave Nairobi and travel to Masai Mara National Reserve, home to many wild animals. On the way, stop at the Rift Valley viewpoint for photos.
Arrive in the Mara and go on a game drive in the plains to search for wild animals such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, elands, wildebeests, and others. Then head to your lodge to check in, have dinner, and rest for the night.
Day 2: Full day in Masai Mara
Spend a full day in the Mara plains enjoying game drives and also visit the Masai community. On the game drives, you will see the African Big Five animals: lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos, and buffalo. You will also see giraffes, zebras, warthogs, and antelopes like wildebeests, kudu, bushbucks, and more.
During the community tour, learn about the life of the Masai people, who are pastoralists. You can watch or join in preparing traditional meals, enjoy music, dance, drama, storytelling, and more. Return to the lodge in the late evening for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Head to Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, leave Masai Mara and travel to Lake Nakuru National Park, known for its large numbers of flamingoes. The park is surrounded by wooded and bushy grasslands, set in the Great Rift Valley.
Arrive and take an evening game drive, where you may see spotted hyenas, zebras, gazelles, leopards, lions, rhinos, giraffes, and many more. Check in to your accommodation after the game drive.
Day 4: Game drive and return to Nairobi
Have a morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park. Expect to see animals like zebras, waterbucks, both black and white rhinos, baboons, and others. After breakfast, head back to Nairobi and be dropped off at the agreed location.
