Detailed 3-Day Rwanda Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Akagera National Park
Upon your arrival in Kigali, meet your driver/guide and start your journey to Akagera National Park Rwanda. The park is located about 2 hours from Kigali.
Begin with a short morning game drive and return to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing boat cruise on Lake Ihema, one of the largest lakes in Rwanda. During the cruise, look out for hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and many bird species.
Later, head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight rest.
Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive
After an early breakfast, set off for a full-day Akagera National Park game drive. Carry a packed lunch as you explore the northern plains and woodlands, which host many animals like elephants, buffaloes, zebras, antelopes, and giraffes.
