You will track two different mountain gorilla families in separate areas of the park. Detailed 4-Day Rwanda Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Upon your arrival for the 4-day Rwanda gorilla safari, our tour guide will meet you at the airport. You will then be transferred to Hotel Rwanda for lunch and afterward to Volcanoes National Park in Musanze.
In the evening, you will relax at the lodge as you prepare for your first gorilla trekking adventure the next day.
Day 2: First Gorilla Tracking and Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village
Start your day with an early breakfast, then head to the park headquarters in Kinigi by 7:30 am for a short briefing. Afterward, begin your first gorilla trekking adventure.
The trek can take between two and eight hours, depending on how long it takes to locate the gorillas. Once you find them, you will spend a full hour observing and photographing these incredible primates.
In the evening, visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village for a rich cultural experience. This village is one of the best places in Rwanda to learn about local traditions, dances, and history.
Day 3: Second Gorilla Tracking and Twin Lakes Visit
Begin the day with another briefing at the park headquarters. This time, you will trek in a different area of the park to meet another gorilla family.
As with the first day, the trek can last up to eight hours, including the one hour spent with the gorillas. After the trek, visit the Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. These stunning lakes are surrounded by the high hills of the Virunga Mountains, offering breathtaking scenery perfect for photography.
Other activities at the Twin Lakes include bird-watching, cultural visits, and agricultural tours.
Day 4: Kigali City Tour and Departure
On the final day of your safari, transfer to Kigali for a short city tour. Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, Caplaki Crafts Village, and other attractions.
Have lunch at Hotel Rwanda or the Kigali Convention Center. After the city tour, transfer to the airport in time for your departure flight.
