Detailed 7-Day Uganda Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Pick-up and Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

This 7-Day Uganda Safari begins with an early breakfast at your lodge or hotel, or an early morning pick-up from Entebbe International Airport. A tour guide from our company will pick you up and transfer you to Kibale Forest National Park, with lunch en route in Fort Portal. We will arrive at the national park in the evening, have dinner, and retire to rest as we prepare for a chimpanzee trekking experience the next day.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale National Park

After an early breakfast on this second day of your 7-Day Uganda Safari, we will head to the park headquarters for a short briefing session before venturing into the forest for a chimpanzee trekking experience. This experience typically lasts between 2 to 8 hours, depending on how long it takes to locate the chimpanzees, including a full hour spent observing these primates. We will then return to the lodge for lunch and proceed with an afternoon walk at Bigodi Swamp, where we can observe various species of birds.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Rise to an early breakfast and head out for a 3-4 hour game drive in Mweya, where we’ll see various wildlife species and birds. We will return for lunch before embarking on a boat ride along the Kazinga Channel, a haven for many bird species. Over 70% of Queen Elizabeth National Park’s wildlife can be spotted along this channel, making it a perfect opportunity to capture lifelong memories with photographs.

Day 4: Game Drive and Kyambura Gorge Experience

After breakfast, embark on a game drive along the Kasenyi trails for broader views of wildlife, including lions, antelopes, and other predators. We will then return for lunch at your lodge and later head out for an exciting chimpanzee trekking experience in the Kyambura Gorge, or alternatively, an adventurous forest walk through Maramagambo Forest up to the Python Cave.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi National Park

Early in the morning, we will transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, passing through the southern Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park to observe the rare tree-climbing lions resting in fig trees. We will have a delicious lunch at Savannah Hotel, then continue to Bwindi, arriving in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6: Mountain Gorilla Trekking

This is the highlight of your Uganda safari tour. After breakfast, you will report to the park headquarters for a briefing on the dos and don’ts of gorilla tracking. During this meeting, groups will be assigned and gorilla families allocated. We will then venture into the forests of Bwindi for a gorilla tracking experience that can last up to 8 hours, depending on how long it takes to find these primates. If we return early, we will visit the Batwa Pygmies to enjoy their traditional dances, storytelling, and cultural exchange. Afterward, we will have dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7: Transfer Back to Kampala

After an early breakfast on this last day of your 7-Day Uganda Safari, we will transfer back to Kampala, with stops in Mbarara for lunch and at the Equator for photography. We will reach Kampala in the evening, where you may choose to catch your night flight or enjoy an overnight stay in Entebbe.

End of 7-Day Uganda Safari.
