Detailed 10-Day Uganda Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
A guide from our company will pick you up from your accommodation early in the morning after breakfast and drive you towards Masindi, where Murchison Falls National Park is located.
We’ll have a brief stopover at Kafu for Muchomo (African roasted meat), gonja (roasted plantain), and roasted cassava before continuing to the park.
We’ll visit the top of the falls for a remarkable view before heading to our accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Game Viewing Drive and Boat Cruise
Today, we’ll enjoy remarkable sights of Uganda’s wildlife, including four of the Big Five. If you opt for the optional Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary visit, you can spot all of the Big Five animals.
We’ll drive around the park in search of wildlife and return to the lodge before midday to relax and have lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a boat cruise to the bottom of the falls, where you’ll see crocodiles, hippos, and various bird species.
After this memorable experience, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Murchison Falls NP to Kibale Forest National Park
After an early breakfast, we’ll set off for Kibale Forest National Park, stopping for lunch en route in Fort Portal town. Upon arrival in the afternoon, you’ll enjoy a guided nature walk in Bigodi Swamp, a prime location for spotting various bird species and primates. We’ll then return for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Following breakfast, we’ll embark on a morning chimpanzee tracking experience, where you’ll also see other primates like colobus monkeys and red-tailed monkeys, along with numerous bird species.
After lunch, we’ll transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving in the evening for an immediate evening game drive to spot wildlife before heading to our accommodation.
Day 5: Nature Walk and Boat Safari
After breakfast, we’ll trek through Maramagambo Forest, looking for bird species, chimpanzees, various primates, and the mysterious python caves. Following lunch, we’ll take a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel to view crocodiles, hippos, cape buffalo, and various birds. We’ll return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, we’ll transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, passing through the Ishasha plains to see tree-climbing lions. We’ll have lunch at Ishasha Wilderness Camp and visit the Ishasha River to view hippos, crocodiles, and other aquatic animals. We’ll then proceed to Bwindi for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 7: Gorilla Tracking and Batwa Trail
Today requires an early start to reach the park headquarters by 7:30 am for a briefing on the dos and don’ts of gorilla tracking. You’ll be assigned to a group with a ranger for a trek that can take 2-8 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location. Once you locate them, you’ll have an hour to observe and photograph them.
Afterward, we’ll return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, visit the community to meet the Batwa pygmies, enjoy cultural performances, and learn from traditional healers and brewers.
Day 8: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
After an early breakfast, we’ll transfer to Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda’s second smallest national park, passing through the scenic landscapes of Kabale.
Following lunch, enjoy a boat trip on Lake Mburo, where you may see impalas, crocodiles, and other wildlife before heading to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 9: Morning Game Drive and Transfer Back to Kampala
Begin the day with an early morning game drive to spot zebras, cape buffalo, and other mammals and bird species across the Savannah plains. After the game drive, we’ll return to the lodge for lunch and then transfer back to Kampala, with a stop for lunch at Igongo Cultural Center in Mbarara.
We’ll also stop at the Equator, where you can take photos with your feet in different hemispheres. We’ll arrive in Kampala in the evening for dinner and rest.
Day 10: Visit Uganda Wildlife Education Center (UWEC) and Departure
On the final day, visit the Uganda Wildlife Education Center in Entebbe to see various wildlife and bird species. If you have an early flight, we’ll transfer you directly to the airport to catch your flight.
Extensions to this 10-Day Tour: If time permits, you can extend this trip by two days to enjoy white water rafting at Itanda Falls in Jinja. Additional activities include bungee jumping, kayaking, or quad biking, based on your preferences.
