Detailed 5-Day Uganda Gorillas & Wildlife Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Guests will be picked up from their hotel in Entebbe by a professional guide with a comfortable tourist vehicle. The drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park in the west will take approximately 7 hours.
A lunch stop is scheduled at Igongo Cultural Hotel in Mbarara, where guests can enjoy delicious local cuisine served by the hospitable restaurant team.
After lunch, explore the museum for insights into the ancient Ankole culture and artifacts.
Continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park and check in at the lodge upon arrival. Relax on the lodge premises while enjoying views of the park’s vegetation and wildlife.
Dinner will be served at sunset, followed by an overnight stay.
Day 2: Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise
Start the day with breakfast at first light, then embark on a guided morning game drive in the savannah plains of the northern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park.
The plains are home to a variety of animals, including African bush elephants, Uganda kobs, elands, common genets, leopards, lions, and hyenas. Take the time to observe and photograph these animals.
Around midday, return to the lodge for a delicious lunch. After lunch, drive to Kazinga Channel for a scenic boat cruise, offering views of lush vegetation along the shores of Lake Edward and Lake George, as well as captivating bird species that gather along the channel. Return to the lodge at sunset for relaxation.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park with a Visit to Ishasha Sector
After an early breakfast at the lodge, proceed south to the Ishasha sector of the park. This area is famous for its tree-climbing lions, which you may spot lounging in fig trees.
Continue to the lodge at midday for lunch, then drive to Bwindi National Park. The drive will take approximately 5 hours. Upon arrival, check into your lodge, and enjoy the evening at the bar or restaurant, where dinner will be served before retiring for the night.
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Enjoy a hearty breakfast to prepare for the exciting day ahead. Meet with the park rangers, who will provide a briefing on the rules and guidelines for gorilla trekking.
After the briefing, venture into the jungle for your gorilla trekking experience.
The journey will take you through the dense forest and mountainous slopes until you reach a gorilla family. Spend time with these incredible creatures until the afternoon, then return to the lodge for a delicious lunch and some relaxation.
In the evening, an optional nature walk led by rangers will allow visitors to explore more of the park’s treasures, including birds and black-and-white colobus monkeys.
Return to the lodge at dusk for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5: Transfer Back to Entebbe International Airport
