5 Days Rwanda Gorillas Trek & Maasai Mara Wildlife Safari

Have a blast safari as you visit Rwanda gorillas and wildlife in Masai Mara national reserve in Kenya. This tour is like killing two birds with one stone where the endangered mountain gorillas will trek and the annual wildebeest migration will be spotted. The main experience will be game drives, hot air ballooning, community tour and gorilla trekking.

The other options are to visit attractions in Kigali city such as the genocide memorial grounds, the local markets, the art and gallery centers and many more. You will enjoy the endless plains of Mara and the beautiful hills in Rwanda. The tour will begin in Kigali and it will end in Nairobi Kenya.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Short Kigali city tour and transfer to Volcanoes national park

Be picked from any agreed point in Kigali let’s say the hotel and immediately a short city tour in Kigali where the genocide memorial grounds, local markets and art centers will be the main visited attraction on this day.

Later on after having lunch, transfer to Volcanoes national park a conservation area in Africa where the gorilla conservation started way back by the late Dian Fossey. Head straight to the lodge for your dinner and nap.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking

On this second day of your safari, spend it trekking gorillas which will be in the morning. The briefing will commence and it will be conducted by the park guide who will take you through the rules and regulations such as don’t feed wild animals, keep quiet while tracking in the forest, don’t imitate the gorilla’s voice, hire porters to help you carry some extra luggage and keep a distance of about 8 metres.

While in the jungle meet other attractions but the main focus will be 9n the mountain gorillas. On spotting them for the first time, the clock will begin to count and after an hour while in their presence, head back to the lodge for late lunch and then leisure.

Day 3: Transfer to Masai Mara via Kigali (fly to Kenya)

Leave Volcanoes national park in the morning and have a drive to Kigali city where you will have a great view of the surrounding. Fly to Nairobi Kenya and meet our tour representative ready to take you to Masai Mara National reserve. This reserve is among the largest protected area in Kenya with great and endless plains. Arrive and enjoy a bush dinner at the lodge.

Day 4: Full day Masai Mara

This can be through hot air ballooning, game drives and visiting the Masai people. The game drive will expose you to a huge concentration of animals such as lions, elephants, buffalos, leopards, elands, topis, bushbucks, warthogs, wildebeest and many more. Because this protected area hosts the annual wildebeest migration, this will be a high chance of spotting and enjoying this movement as they cross the different rivers while the predators enjoy hunting them. The hot air ballooning will give you a chance to spot wild animals and on aerial view as the Masai community walk takes you learning as you get entertainment from the local people.

Day 5: Game drive and depart home

Have a short game drive in the Mara plains that will last for 2 hours. This will reward you 2ith a great reward for wildlife and have a chance to spot the missed wild animals. Later on, head to the airport and fly home marking the end of the tour.
