Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes national park
Head to Volcanoes national park from Kigali city after a pick up from any agreed point. Visit the twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo where you will take a boat cruise. Volcanoes national park is among the three national parks that are located in the Virunga mountains that are located on the border of Uganda, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. This park has a great history of Dian Fossey a primatologist researcher that saved a great number of mountain gorillas. Arrive and head to the lodge for dinner.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking experience
Begin the day with breakfast and a short drive to the park offices where you encounter briefing. This amazing exercise will give you a hint about the life and behaviours of the endangered mountain gorillas, go through the does and don’ts such as don’t feed wild animals, don’t make noise, don’t use flashlights while taking photos and many more. Have a small snack or packed lunch, enough drinking water and many more. Begin the search with a help of the park ranger guide well-armed as you spot other attractions like plants, bird species, butterflies and more. Meeting a gorilla family will reward you with the best moment since you will spot the different behaviours of the family that resemble humans. Spend an hour in their presence and then head to the lodge for leisure time.
Day 3: Transfer to Kigali and fly to Arusha, drive to Serengeti NP
Wake up for breakfast and then drive to Kigali to catch up with your scheduled flight to Arusha Tanzania. Upon arrival, you will meet the tour representative of our company and takes you to a briefing about these remaking days. Head to Serengeti national park where you take part in a full-day game drive the next day. Check-in at the lodge for your accommodation.
Day 4: Full-day Serengeti plains explorations
Have a great time while taking a full day exploring the best of Serengeti national park through game drives. Lunch picnic will be enjoyed in the jungle overlooking the endless plains with different wild animals. Animals that won’t be missed are zebras, giraffes, elephants, buffalos, leopards, lions, wildebeests and many more including birds, plants, scenery and more. Great moments like the wildebeest migration, mating and giving birth if you’re so lucky.
Day 5: Morning game drive and transfer to Arusha Airport
Have a morning game drive before departure where you will spot more or missed wild animals. Later on, head back to Arusha where you will board your flight back home and this will mark the end of the safari in Rwanda’s forest and Tanzania’s savannah plains.
