Detailed 10-Day Kenya Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Pick-up in Nairobi & Drive to Masai Mara National Reserve
Meet your driver-guide for a warm welcome and short briefing before starting your journey to Masai Mara, one of Kenya’s largest wildlife reserves. The park is famous for the annual wildebeest migration from Serengeti in Tanzania. You will also see big mammals, including the Big Five. On arrival, check in at your lodge for rest and overnight stay.
Day 2 & 3: Explore Masai Mara (Game Drives and Masai Village Visit)
Spend two full days exploring the Masai Mara on game drives. Look out for lions, elephants, buffalos, rhinos, leopards, giraffes, and wildebeests. You might see animal hunts or enjoy a picnic lunch in the park.
You will also visit a Masai village to learn about their culture. Taste local food, join in their songs and dances, and experience their daily life.
Day 4: Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. On the way, enjoy scenic views of the Great Rift Valley and Mount Longonot with a short stop for photos or souvenirs.
Lake Nakuru is known for its large flocks of flamingos that turn the lake’s edge pink. After lunch, take an evening game drive to see lions, rhinos, leopards, giraffes, elephants, and hippos.
Day 5: Drive to Lake Naivasha
Enjoy a morning game drive before heading to Lake Naivasha. In the afternoon, take a relaxing boat cruise or rest by the lodge’s pool. Lake Naivasha, which means “rough water” in the local language, is one of Kenya’s most visited lakes. You may see giraffes, zebras, buffalos, and birds such as the African spoonbill, little grebe, and gonolek.
Day 6: Visit Hell’s Gate National Park
After breakfast, visit Hell’s Gate National Park, the only park in Kenya without predators. Located south of Lake Naivasha, it was named after a narrow gap between cliffs. Enjoy a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch and spot zebras, giraffes, and buffalos. Later, return to your lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 7: Drive to Amboseli National Park
After breakfast, drive to Amboseli National Park. The park is known for its clear views of Mount Kilimanjaro, tall baobab trees, and large elephant herds. Amboseli means “salt dust” in the Masai language. On arrival, check in at your lodge and enjoy the views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Day 8: Full Day in Amboseli National Park
Start early with a morning game drive for clear views of Mount Kilimanjaro. You can choose a full-day game drive or relax in the morning and explore later in the afternoon. Amboseli is one of the best places to see elephants up close. You may also spot leopards, cheetahs, buffalos, giraffes, lions, crocodiles, mongoose, dik-dik, and kudu. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 9: Drive to Tsavo West National Park
Wake up early for a short game drive, then enjoy breakfast before driving to Tsavo West National Park. The park is home to lions, leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs, hyenas, hippos, buffalos, rhinos, and elephants. Check in at your lodge and later take an evening game drive before dinner.
Day 10: Morning Game Drive and Return to Nairobi
Enjoy your final morning game drive before breakfast to spot any animals you may have missed. Afterward, pack up and drive back to Nairobi, where your 10-day Kenya safari ends with a drop-off at the airport for your flight home.
