Detailed 5-Day Uganda & Rwanda Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda
When you arrive at Kigali International Airport in Rwanda, your guide will meet you and drive you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda. The journey takes about 4 to 5 hours through hills and local villages.
When you reach Bwindi, check in at your lodge, have dinner, and rest as you prepare for the gorilla trek the next day.
Day 2: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi & Batwa Cultural Trail
After an early breakfast, go to the park headquarters for a briefing before starting your gorilla trek. The walk takes between 2 and 8 hours, depending on where the gorillas are found.
Once you locate a gorilla family, spend one hour watching them as they feed and move around. After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation.
In the afternoon, visit the Batwa Pygmy community to learn about their traditions, stories, hunting methods, and enjoy their songs and dances.
Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda & Visit Twin Lakes
After breakfast, travel to Volcanoes National Park in Musanze, Rwanda. The park is home to Rwanda’s mountain gorillas. You will stop for lunch along the way.
In the evening, visit the Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo near the park. You can take a short boat ride, enjoy a nature walk, or visit nearby villages to meet local people.
Day 4: Gorilla Tracking in Volcanoes & Iby’Iwacu Cultural Visit
After breakfast, go to the park headquarters in Kinigi for a briefing about gorilla tracking rules. You will be assigned a gorilla family to visit.
The trek usually takes between 2 and 8 hours. Once you find the gorillas, spend one hour with them before returning to your lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, visit Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village, where you can learn about Rwandan traditions, see local homes, and enjoy cultural performances.
Day 5: Kigali City Tour & Departure
On your final day, take a short Kigali city tour before your departure. You may visit the genocide memorial, local markets, and craft shops.
