Just like in any other country, visitors planning to travel to the Democratic Republic of Congo must get a visa unless they come from countries that are exempt from needing one. Congo visas must be obtained before arrival, either online or through the Congo embassy in your country.
All DRC visa applications must include an invitation letter that is notarized in the DRC and stamped by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kinshasa. A round-trip air ticket or a letter from a travel agency showing your itinerary will also be required.
All travelers must have a valid passport with at least six months of validity. They will also need passport photos, proof of travel plans, a completed DRC visa application form, a money order, a yellow fever vaccination card, and other documents as needed for entry into Congo.
Minors traveling with one parent or without any parents must present a notarized consent letter from the parents. A copy of the birth certificate may also be required.
Proof of funds may also be needed.
Business travelers must provide a business introduction letter.
