Congo is most famous for and they are available for trekking only in Kahuzi-Biega NP. Your primate and community tour begins and ends in Kigali Rwanda, East-Central Africa.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Fly to Kigali & pick up

A warm welcome to the Land of a Thousand Hills, get briefed about this special 4-Day tour to D.R. Congo. With an experienced driver guide, embark on a Kigali city tour –optional prior to check in at the hotel for evening relaxation.

Day 02: Kigali-Bukavu (Congo)

After a hefty breakfast, you will be picked up at the hotel within Kigali and drive to Bukavu, a road trip involving a border crossing from Rwanda to Congo. At Butare, a stopover will be made to visit the National Museum, Nyanza King’s palace and other sites. Have lunch and continue to Bukavu to check in at the pre-booked accommodation facility.

Day 03: Kahuzi-Biega Park Eastern Lowland gorilla trekking

After breakfast, head off to Kahuzi-Biega NP for a briefing session about guidelines for lowland gorilla trekking. The normal gorilla trek begins at 8:00 am lasting for 2 to 5 hours inclusive of one for a magical encounter and you will navigate through a lush forest before meeting gorillas. Retreat from a gorilla trek and settle for lunch, relax then meet the experienced guide to lead you to a nearby community for guided walk tour. You will also be exploring Mbayo tea estates and later, get back to chill at the lodge.

Day 04: Departure

A hefty breakfast will be enjoyed at the comfort of the lodge and after, check out then meet the driver guide for the return trip from Congo to Kigali Rwanda.
