21 Days Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania Wildlife & Zanzibar Tour

The 21 days holiday in Tanzania introduces you to premier destinations including Lake Manyara National Park, Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire and Kilimanjaro Mountain.

Expected experiences to enjoy on this trip include guided game drives, observing the wildebeest migration, bird sighting, visiting the Stone Town and relax at any of Zanzibar beaches.

Detailed trip.

Day 1: A warm welcome to Tanzania

Your exploration in Tanzania begins the very moment you land in at the Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). Meet & greet our company representative, get briefed and after, transfer to the hotel –and in case you have adequate time, visit the Maasai market to purchase some of the finest souvenirs.

Day 2: Trek with guide from Marangu Gate (1980m) to Mandara Hut -2700m.

Day hike to conquer the 5895 meter summits of Mount Kilimanjaro starts at an altitude of 1980m after briefing. At Marangu gate, find porters for hire to assist you with heavy luggage and before you set off, you will be registered by the Kilimanjaro NP officials. Begin the day trek through the rainforest and you camp at Mandara Hut, enjoy dinner and retire for the night.

Day 3: Horombo Hut -3720m

After breakfast, begin another journey to Horombo Hut (3720m). Trek via the Maundi Crater, ascending to its rim while enjoying the splendid views of the Kibo Crater. The trek also takes you through the moorland with exotic plants, groundsel and giant lobelia. You will have about 6 hours trek and you get to Horombo Hut, but ensure that you have some snacks and enough bottled drinking water.

Day 4: Mawenzi Hut (4600m) –(Get acclimatized by the high altitude)

A delicious breakfast, you will have full day getting your body acclimatized with the high elevation or have an option of trekking from Horombo Hut to Mawenzi Hut (4600m).

Day 5: Kibo Hut (4700m)

A hot cup of tea/coffee and after, continue with your trek to Kibo Hut. This area straddles between the Kibo & Mawenzi peaks. Today, you will be expected to have enough water and later, dinner will be enjoyed before you make it to the summit for a night stay.

Day 6: Uhuru peak (5895m) & back to Horombo Hut

Arise early, enjoy breakfast and with your snacks, ascend to Gillman’s point (5681m)-this is found along the Crater rim. The trek leads you up to the snow-covered trail till you get to the summit –Uhuru peak. Have a moment to relax at Kibo Hut, lunch & begin descending to Horombo Hut.

Day 7: Marangu gate –Arusha

Enjoy breakfast in the morning, after, have six hours trek back to Marangu gate (1980m). You will sign the park’s register, get a certificate and transfer to Arusha town/city for an overnight stay in a hotel.

Day 8: Maasai cultural tour

Pick up & transfer to Olpopongi Maasai Village to experience distinct cultures, & traditions of the Maasai people. Your cultural expedition will run up to afternoon, and then you connect to Shanga village for yet another phase of cultural interaction and have a taste of prepared local cuisines.

Day 9: Tarangire National Park (Tanzania wildlife expedition)

Enjoy a delicious breakfast, after; you will embark on a day wildlife viewing. The day game sightings include a huge concentration of elephants, plus other species such as spotted hyenas, impalas, waterbucks, warthogs, giraffes, leopards, lions, cheetahs, and birds.

Day 10: Day drive to Lake Manyara NP

Depart Tarangire National Park for Lake Manyara N/Park. You will have another guided game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, expecting to come across distinct animal species. This park is famous for tree climbing lions, but other animals will also be encountered such as buffaloes, giraffes, birds like flamingoes; impalas and more.

Day 11: Visit the Hadzabe Bushmen

Have breakfast and after, meet the driver for transfer to Lake Eyasi where you will interact with Hadzabe Bushmen. Expect to have authentic cultural experience while at Hadzabe cultural tour. Your tour also includes a visit to the Dagota pastoral nomads and herdsmen, and later, you will return to Karatu.

Day 12: Ngorongoro Crater

A delicious breakfast will be followed by transfer to Ngorongoro Crater, one of the world’s natural wonders. This untouched protected area shelters about 30,000 wildlife making it home to a huge concentration of wildlife including wildebeests, zebras, hippos, warthogs, buffaloes, elands, hyenas, cheetahs, leopards, elephants and more. Majority of the Ngorongoro Crater wildlife will be spotted during the guided game drive and you will relax at the accommodation around the Crater rim.

Day 13: To Serengeti National Park to see more wildlife

After a cup of tea/coffee, a day will be dedicated for you to connect up to Serengeti National Park. The renowned home to endless plains, Serengeti NP provides unmatched wildebeest migration experience and big five encounter.

Day 14 to 15:

At Serengeti National Park, you will have 2 incredible days enjoying different experiences. The important experiences for you to be part of include watching the wildebeest migration (depending on the time you will travel to the park), big 5 game drive and bird sighting.

Day 16: From Serengeti to Zanzibar

Meet & greet your driver guide, then head off to Seronera Airstrip where you will depart to Abeid Amani Airport. Arrive early and meet the driver who will transfer you to the hotel in Stone Town. Today, your area of interest will be the Prison Island on Zanzibar Island. Later in the evening, the next visit will be at Forodhani Gardens for you to have tasty seafood.

Day 17: Explore Stone town (Zanzibar)

Have a long day exploring the historical & heritage site at Stone town. The main areas to be visited include the palace museum, slave chambers, Arab Fort, House of wonders and more. After, proceed to the craft shops and in the afternoon, connect to Nungwi beach for relaxation.

Day 18 to 20: Beach experience (Zanzibar)

3 days will be dedicated for beach relaxation, and expected experiences include snorkeling, jet skiing, paragliding, or play volleyball (morning sessions). Afternoon activities, relaxation at the beach & enjoy the view of sunsets while it appears in the turquoise Indian Ocean.

Day 21: Departure

Get up early for breakfast & later, check out ready to connect to Abeid Amani Airport for departure back home.
