Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Akagera National Park and Evening Boat Cruise
You will be picked up from your hotel in Kigali by a professional guide in a comfortable safari vehicle. The drive to Akagera National Park will take about 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Upon arrival, you will enjoy a scenic drive through the park, viewing its diverse flora and fauna.
Arrive at your lodge around midday, where you can relax as lunch is prepared and served. After lunch, transfer to Lake Ihema through the park’s picturesque landscapes.
At Lake Ihema, embark on an afternoon boat cruise that will last until sunset.
You will enjoy views of riverine vegetation, as well as sightings of beautiful bird species such as shoebills, secretary birds, black vultures, hamerkops, African fish eagles, turacos, Abyssinian ground hornbills, black bee-eaters, cinnamons, and egrets.
