Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up from Kigali and transfer to Kahuzi Biega National Park
Be picked up from the airport in Kigali and head to Kahuzi-Biega national park in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This amazing transfer is covered with beautiful surrounding covered with hills, green vegetation l and many more. Cross the Goma border with ease since you will be helped by an expert guide. Arrive in the evening ad straight away head to the park lodge for dinner.
Day 2: Eastern Low land gorilla trekking
Immediately after breakfast, a short drive to the park offices where the briefing will take place. The park guide will tell you all the required information about the great apes on planet earth. The rules and regulations will not miss since they are the guiding principles while in the forest such as feeding wild animals is highly prohibited, keeping a distance from wild animals is a must, don’t eat or drinking in front of animals and many others. Trekking will begin with fellow trekkers and the park rangers and on meeting a gorilla family, have an hour in their presence as you capture memorable photos. The gorilla family trekked has a leader of called the silverback and during your stay, the silverback will be practicing leadership skills. After, head back to the lodge for leisure time as you prepare for the next day’s hike.
Day 3: Hike Mount Kahuzi and Biega
Breakfast and briefing will follow at the park offices where the rules and regulations to follow such as do not litter the park premises, always stay around the park guide, don’t make noise and many more. The hike will begin and it will last for half a day with a picnic lunch at the summit. Mt Kahuzi stands at 3308m above sea level and Mount Biega has an elevation of 2790m above sea level. On the hike, enjoy the beautiful scenery of the landscape covered with vegetation which homes different animals. Spot some primates and you are lucky enough, to meet some low-land gorillas. Descend and head to the lodge for your dinner.
Day 4: Head back to Kigali and fly home
Leave Kahuzi-Biega national park after morning breakfast and transfer back to Kigali Rwanda a journey accompanied by great scenery. Have lunch and proceed to the airport where you will be dropped and this will mark the end of the tour.
