This is a short safari that takes you to Congo to visit primates like Eastern lowland gorillas in Kahuzi-Biega national park through gorilla trekking and visit the Lwiro chimpanzee sanctuary for chimpanzees in captivity.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Bukavu from Kigali Rwanda
Leave Kigali Rwanda after a short briefing exercise by the tour driver guide about this amazing and loving tour to meet the gorillas. Take a journey to Bukavu town where you will spend 3 nights. While on the way to the Southern part of the country, you will have an en-route visit to the former presidential palace in Nyanza and Butare museum. Cross through the Rusizi II border and at this point, go through the immigration process this will be the end of the day after checking in the lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Kahuzi-Biega NP
Head for a great African experience which is gorilla trekking this will begin with breakfast and then a briefing exercise will follow. During the briefing that is done by the park ranger or warden, be told the guidelines to follow while trekking, cross-checking of gorilla trekking permits, allocation of the group of tourists and the park guide to trek with and many more. The trek or search will begin and on meeting the gorilla family, take photos and record memorable videos. Watch the largest greatest apes playing as they stay on the ground, unlike the chimps that are normally staying in the trees feeding, the head of the group will be practicing its leadership skills and many more others.
Day 3: Visit Chimpanzees in Lwiro Sanctuary
Visit the chimps at Lwiro chimpanzee sanctuary after a leisurely breakfast. At this facility, orphaned chimpanzees are kept here for care. On your visit, you will take part in different daily activities such as feeding the orphaned and harmed chimpanzees, treating and many more. Later on, head back to the lodge for your last night.
Day 4: Transfer back to Rwanda in Kigali city
Have a morning breakfast and then transfer to Kigali city of Rwanda. Arrive and be served a hot buffet lunch followed by a short city tour where the local markets, Kigali memorial grounds, and a drive to one of the hills that offers an aerial view of the green beautiful Kigali city. Later on, head to the airport where you will be dropped and this will mark the end of the tour.
