2 Days Lowland Gorilla Trekking in Kahuzi-Biega National Park in Congo

This short tour to Kahuzi-Biega national park is designed for tourists who are interested in trekking the endangered eastern lowland gorillas that are rare and only found in this great national park in Africa.

This will involve gorilla trekking where an hour will be allocated in your presence to capture memories. This tour will make you know the difference between mountain gorillas and eastern lowland gorillas.

Also, visit two countries at the same time that is Rwanda the land of a thousand hills and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Kahuzi-Biega national park is among the unique national parks in Africa and is also considered to be one of the world’s UNESCO heritage sites.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Kahuzi Biega National Park from Kigali Rwanda

Be picked by the tour driver guide who is brief you about the tour and then head to Kahuzi-Biega national park near Rubavu. Cross the Cyagungu border as you will enjoy nature covered with rolling hills, forests like Nyungwe forest with its primates, have an option of visiting the presidential palace museum and many more. Arrive and check-in at the lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and head back to Kigali Rwanda

Begin the day with breakfast, drive to the briefing point and then briefing exercise. The park guide will stipulate the rules and regulations, materials required while trekking, carrying enough drinking water, and many more. Trekking will immediately begin with the guidance of the armed guide park ranger. Meet other creatures such as bird life, primates like the varvet monkeys red-tailed monkeys, red colobus monkeys and many more others. Meeting the gorillas grants you an hour that will be spent in their presence but trusts me this will be a rewarding moment, the overall experience will take about 5 to 7 hours.

Head back to the lodge for hot lunch and check out with a transfer back to Kigali Rwanda. Be dropped at any agreed point let’s say the airport and this marks the end of the safari.
