Day 2: Visit Arusha National Park
Wake up early and drive about 30 minutes to Arusha National Park. Take a walking safari with a park ranger and see wildlife such as colobus monkeys and waterfalls. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive to spot gazelles, elephants, zebras, warthogs, waterbucks, and many birds. Leopards also live here but are rarely seen. Return to Arusha for the night.
Day 3: Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions. Have lunch at a local restaurant and later enjoy an afternoon game drive. Expect to see elephants, flamingos, wildebeests, giraffes, zebras, and rhinos. Spend the night at your lodge near the park.
Day 4: Drive to Serengeti National Park
Start the day with breakfast and drive to Serengeti National Park, Tanzania’s largest park. Pass through Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Serengeti is home to the great wildebeest migration, where millions of wildebeests and zebras move toward Kenya’s Masai Mara. Arrive for an evening game drive before heading to your lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 5–6: Full Days in Serengeti National Park
Spend two full days exploring the Serengeti plains through morning and afternoon game drives. Look out for lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, elands, hippos, crocodiles, and more. You can also enjoy an optional hot-air balloon safari to see the migration from above. The sight of wildebeests crossing the rivers while predators hunt is unforgettable.
Day 7: Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This region is known for its rich wildlife and beautiful landscapes. Stop at Lake Magadi, a shallow soda lake famous for large flocks of pink flamingos. Overnight near the crater rim.
Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive
Spend the day exploring Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s best wildlife areas. Enjoy a picnic lunch during your game drive. You may see the Big Five: lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and rhinos, along with zebras, giraffes, wildebeests, hippos, and crocodiles. This is one of the best days of the trip for photography.
Day 9: Visit Olduvai Gorge & Transfer to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, visit Olduvai Gorge, one of the world’s most important prehistoric sites. It was here that Mary and Louis Leakey discovered fossils that helped explain human evolution. Visit the small museum to see ancient tools and skulls. Continue to Tarangire National Park, famous for its giant baobab trees and large elephant herds. Overnight at your lodge.
Day 10: Full Day in Tarangire National Park
Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in Tarangire. Spot elephants, lions, cheetahs, wildebeests, giraffes, zebras, leopards, and many antelope species. A picnic lunch will be served during the day. Return to your lodge for dinner and rest.
