Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Drive from Kinshasa to Lola Ya Bonobo
After a good breakfast, your driver guide will give you a briefing about the tour and share more information about the Democratic Republic of Congo. Then, you will continue the drive to Lola Ya Bonobo.
The trip takes about one to one and a half hours to reach the sanctuary where the bonobos live. Depending on your arrival time, you can choose to take a nature walk or relax at the lodge while waiting for the next day’s bonobo trekking.
Day 2: Bonobo Trekking Adventure
Start your day with an early breakfast. Then drive to the Lola Ya Bonobo sanctuary for an unforgettable bonobo trekking experience. You will get the chance to see bonobos feeding, grooming each other, playing infants, and how the mothers care for their young.
You will spend 3 to 4 hours with these amazing apes. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and rest. You may also choose to take part in an optional activity.
Day 3: Second Day of Bonobo Trekking and Return Home
This is your last day of the safari. After breakfast, drive back to the sanctuary for your second and final chance to trek bonobos in their semi-natural environment.
Use this time to learn more about these primates, take photos, and enjoy being with them. Afterward, return to the lodge for lunch and prepare to check out.
Your driver guide will take you back to your lodge or hotel in Kinshasa for dinner and overnight stay while you wait for your departure flight, depending on your schedule.
