Detailed 1-Day Rwanda Gorilla Trek Itinerary
To arrive on time for the 7:30 am briefing at the park headquarters in Kinigi, departure from Kigali is at 4:00 am. Because the pickup is early, you should carry a packed breakfast to eat during the drive through Rwanda’s hills or at the park headquarters before the briefing. Your guide will assist with this.
At 7:30 am, you will attend a short gorilla trekking briefing at the park office, where you will be assigned a trekking group and armed rangers. The trek can take 2 to 8 hours, depending on where the gorillas are found. Once you meet the gorillas, you will spend one full hour observing and taking photos as they feed, play, and interact.
After the trek, return to the park headquarters to receive your gorilla trekking certificate. You will then drive back to Kigali for a short Kigali city tour and lunch if time allows.
