Detailed 5-Day Uganda Wildlife Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
You will be picked up from your hotel in Kampala by our company guide to begin your safari to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey will take approximately 6 hours and 50 minutes, with a stopover at Lukaya food market for roasted meat and refreshing juice.
Lunch will be served en route, and upon arrival at Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will check into your lodge and relax, enjoying views of the African wilderness. A delicious dinner will be served in the evening, followed by an overnight stay.
Day 2: Game Drive and Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel
Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the lodge before sunrise. Then, proceed on a guided game drive in the national park, where you’ll have endless opportunities to spot animals such as African buffaloes, African bush elephants, and big cats like lions and leopards.
After enjoying the wildlife views, return to the lodge around midday for lunch. Later, drive to the Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise, which will allow you to view animals at the lake’s shores, including buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, crocodiles, and countless bird species. Admire the sunset views from the boat, then return to the lodge at twilight for a delicious dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer from Queen Elizabeth National Park to Kibale National Park, Tour the Crater Lakes and Toro Kingdom Palace
A morning meal will be served at first light at the hotel, after which you’ll drive to Kibale National Park, a journey of roughly 1-2 hours. Kibale National Park offers stunning landscapes, abundant wildlife, and excellent opportunities for photography and sightseeing. Begin with a tour of the breathtaking crater lakes of Ndali and Kasenda, where you can enjoy photography and sightseeing.
Afterward, transfer to the lodge for a mouthwatering lunch. In the afternoon, drive to the Toro Kingdom palace for a historical experience, gaining insights into the kingdom’s rich heritage and traditions. Enjoy cultural dances by the local people before heading back to the lodge at dusk for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest and Bigodi Wetland Walk
Start the day with a delicious breakfast at the lodge, then head to Kibale National Park headquarters for a briefing by the rangers on the chimpanzee tracking guidelines. Enter the forest to observe chimpanzees interacting freely in their natural habitat. Known for their similarities to humans, these fascinating primates share 98% of human DNA.
Return to the lodge for lunch, then take a nature walk in Bigodi Wetland, an excellent bird-watching location and sanctuary for many African bird species. This walk will allow you to enjoy the forest breeze and appreciate the natural beauty of the park. In the evening, return to your hotel in Fort Portal, where you can enjoy the nightlife and stay overnight.
Day 5: Drive Back to Kampala
Enjoy a delicious breakfast at dawn at the hotel. Embark on the drive back to Kampala, which will take approximately 5-6 hours, marking the end of your 5-Day Uganda Safari upon arrival.
