The Albertine Eco-region

Volcanoes National Park

Birds in this area include among others, 27species that endemic to the place, Red-collared Babbler, Blue-headed Sunbird, Regal Sunbird, Handsome Spur fowl, Grauer's Swamp Warbler, Rwenzori Batis, Albertine Owlet, and Rwenzori Turaco.

Akagera National Park

Sits beneath the Albertine belt, northeastern part of Rwanda, housing over 525 bird species in its rolling grassland mixed with broad-leafed and acacia woodland, dissected by River Akagera; some of the bird species that are found here include Papyrus Gonolek, Sousa's Shrike, White-collared Olive back, Shoebill, Red-faced Barbet, and Carruther's Cisticola among others.
