3 – DAY BURUNDI EXPERIENCE.
The 3-day Burundi Experience allows you to experience the real life of the locals on a daily basis, interacting with locals and visiting various historical places and connecting with real nature. You can visit the source of the River Nile, Karera Falls and Gishora Drum Sanctuary to witness a cultural performance performed by the locals. You can also take a boat ride in the River Rusizi and end your tour with a Bujumbura City Tour. This will be an unforgettable experience for you.
Day 1
Upon arrival in Bujumbura, you will be met by our company representative at Melchior Ndadaye International Airport. You will be welcomed to Burundi by our company representative, who will provide you with information about your journey. Then, you will hop on your jeep, and you will be taken to your booked hotel, where you will stay, relax, have dinner, and sleep for the night.
Day 2
Today, after breakfast, you’ll be driven to the Karera waterfalls. Karera water falls is a series of cascading waterfalls in southeast Burundi. The falls are situated in the south of the country, near Rutana. These Karera waterfalls cover an area of over 142 hectares and consist of six branches, divided into three separate landings. After the excursion, go back to the town of Gitega and have lunch and after lunch, go to Gishora Drum Sanctuary to see the unique traditional show. You’ll meet the team chief of renowned drummers for an explanation of this UNESCO intangible World Heritage site. Then, sit down to watch a mesmerizing show that combines the rhythm of the drum beat with dances, heroic poems and traditional songs that lasts about an hour. After that you will spend the night at safari gate hotel near Gitenga.
Day 3
This is the last day of your stay in Burundi and it marks the end of Your safari tour. After your leisurely breakfast, you’ll depart at 8:30. The Bujumbura town tour begins with a boat excursion in Rusizi national park in the Rusizi river, until Lake Tanganyika, where you’ll observe hippos, birds, and crocodiles. You’ll visit the living museum and return to the town center for lunch. After lunch, a representative will safely transfer you to the airport to catch your international flight back home. This is when you bid farewell to Burundi as you carry the beautiful memories from the scenic beauty and the amazing people of Burundi, see you, until next time.
