Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
After you arrive, you will be transferred to Volcanoes National Park. You will stop for lunch on the way. When you reach Musanze, you will check in to your lodge and rest as you prepare for the gorilla trek the next day.
Day 2: Rwanda Gorilla Tracking
Today you will go gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park. Wake up early and reach the park headquarters before 7:30 am for a briefing.
After that, you will hike into the forest with armed rangers to look for the gorillas.
Once you find them, you will spend 1 hour in their presence. After the trek, return to the park office to receive your gorilla tracking certificate.
Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking and Transfer to Lake Kivu
In the morning, you will track golden monkeys, another special primate found in the park. After the trek, you will travel to Gisenyi and enjoy time at Lake Kivu.
Day 4: Transfer to Goma and Ascend Mount Nyiragongo
Today, you will cross into Congo through Goma and start your hike up Mount Nyiragongo. The climb takes about 6 hours with rest stops along the way.
At the summit, you will have a chance to see the active lava lake, one of the most interesting sights in the world. Experts monitor the volcano closely, so your visit will be safe.

Day 5: Descend Nyiragongo, Transfer to Rwanda, and Departure
In the morning, you will begin your descent, which also takes about 6 hours. After reaching the base, you will return to Kigali in Rwanda. From there, you will be dropped off at Kigali International Airport for your flight.
