Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
On arrival at Kigali International Airport, meet our safari guide and transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park in southern Rwanda. The drive passes through green countryside and small towns. If time allows, stop at the Butare Museum to learn about Rwanda’s culture and history.
Depending on your arrival time, you may reach Nyungwe in the afternoon or evening. You can take a short village walk before dinner and overnight rest.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking & Canopy Walk in Nyungwe Forest
Start early with breakfast and head to the park office for a briefing on chimpanzee trekking in Rwanda. The trek starts before sunrise to locate the chimps while they are still active. When you find them, spend one hour watching and taking photos. After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, enjoy a canopy walk high above Nyungwe Forest. This 200-meter walkway is the only one in East Africa and gives amazing views of the forest canopy. Later, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Drive Back to Kigali & Departure
