Detailed 5-Day Uganda Chimpanzee & Wildlife Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Pickup & Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Your safari begins with a morning pick-up by your guide for a briefing before setting off for Murchison Falls National Park.
The 5 to 6-hour journey takes you through towns, markets, and green countryside. Stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track rhinos on foot, this is the only place in Uganda where you can see rhinos in the wild.
After the visit, continue to Masindi for lunch, then proceed to your lodge inside the park for check-in, dinner, and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Game Drive & Boat Safari
Enjoy an early breakfast and start your morning game drive in the northern section of the park.
Murchison Falls National Park is home to elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, giraffes, antelopes, and warthogs. You will also spot many bird species, including cranes and Egyptian geese.
Return to the lodge for lunch, then go on an afternoon boat cruise along the Nile River to the base of the powerful falls.
You will see hippos, crocodiles, and elephants along the riverbanks. The sight of water forcing its way through a narrow 7-meter gorge is truly unforgettable.
After the cruise, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast, check out and drive to Kibale Forest National Park, a journey of about 6 to 7 hours.
Enjoy scenic views of tea plantations and rural villages along the way. Stop for lunch en route before arriving at your lodge in the evening.
Check in, relax, and enjoy dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by the forest sounds.
Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking & Isunga Community Experience
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before starting your Uganda chimpanzee trekking adventure.
Trekking usually lasts 1 to 3 hours, depending on where the chimps are found. You will spend an hour observing them as they swing in the trees, play, and feed.
You may also see other primates, including blue monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and colobus monkeys.
Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy an optional Isunga Community Experience, where you will learn about local traditions, music, and dance.
Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 5: Drop-Off
After breakfast, begin your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe, marking the end of your 5-Day Kibale and Murchison Falls National Park Safari.
If time allows, you can enjoy a brief tour of Kampala, visiting the museum or craft markets for souvenirs before drop-off.
