Activities at the Lodge
Wildlife Viewing. Wildlife viewing Uganda safari tours is the primary tourism activity in Murchison Falls National Park. This is done by taking a game drive or using a balloon safari. The common wildlife found at the park include elephants, lions, leopards, hyenas, antelopes, Ugandan kob, giraffes, waterbucks, warthogs and so many other. Bird Watching. Murchison Falls National Park is home to 451 species of birds recorded (50 species restricted to the park). Bird enthusiasts should come along with binoculars and spot species such as; giant kingfisher, grey crowned crane, giant heron, the rare shoebill stork, black headed lapwing, black bellied bustard, osprey, yellow fronted tinker bird, weaver birds, yellow billed stork, martial eagle, Senegal thick knee, red winged grey warbler and African jacana among others.
Chimpanzee Trekking. Chimpanzee tracking at Murchison Falls is done at Budongo Forest. Chimpanzees share over 98 percent DNA with humans, making them close relatives. Having an encounter with these endangered great apes should not be missed while in Uganda. How to get there
Murchison Falls National Park can be reached within 5 hours drive from Kampala. Scheduled and chattered flights can be taken to Chobe and Pakuba Airstrips within the park from Entebbe International Airport or Kajjansi Airfield.
