Detailed 6-Day Uganda & Serengeti Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Pickup & Transfer to Mabamba Swamp

Your safari begins with a warm welcome from our company representative at the airport or your hotel. After a short briefing, travel to Mabamba Swamp, a birding site on the shores of Lake Victoria.

Take a canoe ride through the swamp with a local bird guide to search for the shoebill stork, one of Africa’s most sought-after birds. You may also see kingfishers, herons, and other wetland species. After the experience, return to your lodge in Entebbe or Kampala for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, drive north to Murchison Falls National Park, stopping at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track Uganda’s only rhinos. Spend about an hour on foot with a ranger before continuing to Masindi Town for lunch.

Arrive at your lodge in Murchison Falls National Park by evening. Relax and enjoy dinner as you prepare for the next day’s adventure.

Day 3: Game Drive & Boat Cruise

Begin your day with an early morning game drive in the northern savannah, where you can spot elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, buffaloes, hartebeests, and Uganda kobs.

Return for a late breakfast and lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on the Nile River to the base of Murchison Falls. Look out for hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and a variety of water birds along the banks. The cruise ends at the falls, where the Nile squeezes through a narrow 7-meter gorge.

Afterward, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Fly from Uganda to Tanzania

After breakfast, transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your flight to Kilimanjaro Airport in northern Tanzania. On arrival, meet your Tanzanian guide and transfer to your lodge in Karatu for dinner and rest.

Day 5: Full-Day Safari in Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, drive into Serengeti National Park, one of Africa’s most well-known safari destinations. Enjoy a full-day game drive as you look for lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, wildebeests, and buffaloes roaming across the open plains.

You will also enjoy a picnic lunch in the park, surrounded by savannah and acacia trees. Your guide will explain the ecosystem and the movement of animals during the Great Wildebeest Migration.

Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Return to Arusha & Departure

Start with an early morning game drive to see nocturnal animals heading back to rest. Watch for hyenas, lions, leopards, and hippos before returning for breakfast. After checking out, drive to Arusha or Moshi for drop-off. This marks the end of your 6-Day Uganda & Serengeti Safari.
