Detailed 3-Day Rwanda Tour Adventure Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park and Visit Gorilla Guardians Village
Travel to Volcanoes National Park while enjoying the beautiful landscapes through your vehicle’s windows. You will see rolling hills, farmlands, gardens, and forests along the way. The drive takes about 3 to 4 hours.
Upon arrival, visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village, also known as the Gorilla Guardians Village. Here, enjoy cultural dances and music, taste traditional meals, meet traditional healers, and learn more about Rwandan culture. Afterward, head to your lodge for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Hike Mount Bisoke
After breakfast at the lodge, proceed to the park office for a briefing about the hike. The hike starts at 8 am and lasts about 5 to 6 hours. It is recommended to hire a porter to carry your belongings.
At the summit, enjoy views of the Crater Lake, surrounding Virunga Mountains, Mgahinga National Park, and the Rwenzori Mountains. Descend and return to the lodge. During the trek, learn about the fascinating history and formation of Mount Bisoke.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Kigali International Airport
Start the day with breakfast and head to the park office for a briefing. Here, you will learn the dos and don’ts for gorilla trekking. Dress appropriately, bring your camera and binoculars, carry water, and pack energy-giving snacks.
The park guide will lead you into the forest to search for gorillas. Along the way, you may encounter other wildlife, including primates and various bird species. When you find the gorilla group, spend an hour observing and enjoying their presence.
Afterward, return to the lodge to check out, then transfer to Kigali International Airport. This will mark the end of your 3-Day Rwanda Adventure.
