Detailed 7-Day Uganda Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Pick-up and Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Your 7-Day Uganda Safari begins with an early breakfast at your hotel or a morning pick-up from Entebbe International Airport.
Your guide will drive you to Kibale Forest National Park, stopping for lunch in Fort Portal. The drive offers scenic views of the countryside, crater lakes, and tea plantations.
Arrive at your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight rest as you prepare for chimpanzee trekking the next day.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale National Park
After an early breakfast, head to the park offices for a briefing before your Uganda chimpanzee trekking adventure.
This activity usually lasts between 2 to 8 hours, depending on where the chimpanzees are located. You will spend one full hour watching these intelligent primates as they interact, play, and feed.
Return to the lodge for lunch, then take an afternoon walk in Bigodi Swamp, a haven for birdlife and small primates.
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most visited wildlife park.
Arrive in time for a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lakes Edward and George. The cruise offers a great opportunity to see elephants, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, and many bird species.
Dinner and overnight at your lodge inside or near the park.
Day 4: Game Drive and Kyambura Gorge Experience
Start the day with a morning game drive along the Kasenyi plains, where you may spot lions, antelopes, elephants, buffaloes, and warthogs.
Return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, visit Kyambura Gorge for a chimpanzee trekking experience or enjoy a forest walk in Maramagambo Forest, which is famous for its Python Cave and bat colonies.
Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park.
This area is known for its tree-climbing lions, often seen resting in large fig trees.
Enjoy lunch at Savannah Hotel before continuing to Bwindi. Arrive in the evening for dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 6: Mountain Gorilla Trekking
This is the highlight of your 7-Day Uganda Safari.
After breakfast, report to the park headquarters for a briefing about the gorilla trekking rules. You’ll be assigned to a gorilla family and guided into the forest by rangers.
The trek can take up to 8 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location, and you’ll spend one hour with them once found, observing and photographing these gentle giants.
If you return early, visit the Batwa Pygmy community to enjoy cultural dances, storytelling, and learn about their traditional way of life.
Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 7: Transfer Back to Kampala
After breakfast, start your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe.
You’ll stop in Mbarara for lunch and at the Uganda Equator for photos and souvenirs.
Arrive in Kampala or Entebbe in the evening. Depending on your flight schedule, you may transfer directly to the airport or spend the night in Entebbe.
This marks the end of your 7-Day Uganda Safari.
