Detailed 21-Day Grand Uganda Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park
Your safari guide will meet you and give a short briefing before departure. Along the way, you will see long-horned cattle and stop at the equator for photos and snacks. Arrive at Lake Mburo National Park, check into your lodge, have lunch, and relax.
Day 2: Game Drive & Boat Cruise
After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive with a ranger guide. Look for zebras, elands, bushbucks, impalas, buffaloes, warthogs, and many birds.
Return for lunch, then take an afternoon boat cruise to see hippos, crocodiles, and water birds.
Day 3: Transfer from Lake Mburo to Mgahinga National Park
After breakfast, drive to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Stop at the Biharwe Eclipse Monument for photos before continuing to your lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 4: Golden Monkey Trekking & Batwa Cultural Trail
Start early with breakfast and a briefing. Hike to see golden monkeys, black and white colobus, olive baboons, and varvet monkeys.
In the afternoon, enjoy the Batwa Cultural Trail and learn about the Batwa people’s way of life.
Day 5: Visit Lake Mutanda for a Boat Cruise
After breakfast, head to Lake Mutanda for a boat cruise. Spot hippos, crocodiles, and water birds such as flamingos and pelicans. Overnight at a lakeside lodge.
Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, travel to Bwindi National Park, enjoying views of terraced farmlands. On arrival, check in at your lodge and later visit a Batwa cultural community.
Day 7: Gorilla Trekking & Leisure
After breakfast, join your group for the gorilla trekking briefing. Enter the forest with guides to search for a gorilla family. You may also see monkeys, baboons, or elephants. Spend an hour with the gorillas before returning to your lodge to relax.
Day 8: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Stop in the Ishasha sector to look for tree-climbing lions, then proceed to your lodge.
Day 9: Game Drive & Boat Cruise
Enjoy a morning game drive in Kasenyi Plains, spotting elephants, lions, antelopes, and warthogs.

Day 10: Transfer to Semuliki National Park

On your last day, explore Kampala’s main attractions such as the Uganda Museum, religious sites, and local markets.
