Detailed 12-Day Uganda Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe and Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
On the first day of your 12-Day Uganda Safari, your guide will meet you at the airport or hotel for a short briefing.
Drive to Lake Mburo National Park, stopping at the Uganda Equator for photos and craft shopping.
Along the way, enjoy views of long-horned Ankole cattle and daily life on the roadside.
Arrive at Lake Mburo, check into your lodge, have lunch, and relax for the night.
Day 2: Game Drive and Boat Cruise
After breakfast, set out for a morning game drive with a park guide.
Look for impalas, elands, waterbucks, buffaloes, zebras, and warthogs.
Return to the lodge for lunch and later enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Mburo.
Spot hippos, crocodiles, and many water birds such as spoonbills and whistling ducks.
Return to your lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 3: Visit Igongo Cultural Centre, Biharwe Eclipse Monument, and Transfer to Mgahinga
After breakfast, begin your journey to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
Stop at the Igongo Cultural Centre to learn about Banyankole traditions, local food, and dance.
Continue to the Biharwe Eclipse Monument for photos and a short history tour.
Enjoy lunch in Ntungamo before arriving at Mgahinga for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Golden Monkey Trekking and Batwa Cultural Trail
After breakfast, head to the park offices for a briefing before golden monkey trekking.
The trek takes about three to four hours, and you will spend one hour observing the monkeys as they play and feed.
You may also see vervet monkeys, olive baboons, or even mountain gorillas if lucky.
In the afternoon, take part in the Batwa Cultural Trail, guided by Batwa elders who will share stories of their forest life, hunting methods, and use of natural herbs.
Return to your lodge for dinner and relaxation.
Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi with Stopover at Lake Mutanda
After breakfast, leave Mgahinga for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Stop at Lake Mutanda to enjoy a peaceful view and take photos.
Have lunch by the lake before continuing to Bwindi for dinner and overnight rest.
Day 6: Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Community Walk
After an early breakfast, report to the park offices for a gorilla trekking briefing.
Join your ranger guide and start hiking through the forest to find a gorilla family.
You will spend one hour with the gorillas, watching their feeding and family behavior.
In the afternoon, visit the Batwa community to learn about their traditional lifestyle, crafts, and food.
