Detailed 3-Day Rwanda Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Musanze
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by our company representative and safari guide. After a short briefing, transfer to Musanze, the town near Volcanoes National Park Rwanda.
Have lunch at Hotel Mille Collines, famous from the “Hotel Rwanda” movie, then visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial and local craft shops.
Afterward, enjoy a scenic 3-hour drive to Volcanoes National Park in northern Rwanda. Check into your lodge, have dinner, and rest as you prepare for the gorilla trekking experience the next day.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking & Twin Lakes Visit
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters in Kinigi for a briefing before your Rwanda gorilla trekking adventure. You will be assigned a gorilla family and escorted by park rangers into the forest.
The trek may take 2–6 hours depending on the gorilla movements. Once you find them, you will spend an hour watching and photographing these amazing primates.
Return to the lodge for lunch, then visit the Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo in the afternoon. Explore the lake shores and interact with local communities before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking & Transfer to Kigali
After breakfast, take part in golden monkey tracking in Volcanoes National Park. This exciting activity takes you through the bamboo forest to see playful golden monkeys. Spend one hour observing them before returning to the lodge for lunch.
