Detailed 4-Day Tanzania Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park – Evening Game Drive
Your safari begins with a pick-up from your preferred location in Arusha by our company representative. You’ll receive a short briefing about your 4-Day Tanzania Safari before starting the journey to Lake Manyara National Park.
Along the way, you may see local Maasai people selling crafts and jewelry such as bracelets, which you can buy as souvenirs.
Arrive at your lodge for lunch and a short rest before heading out for an evening game drive. At the park offices, you’ll check in and begin exploring the park.
Look out for tree-climbing lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, olive baboons, and antelopes. The park is also home to many flamingos and other water birds.
After about four hours of game viewing, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Travel to Serengeti National Park – Evening Game Drive
After breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park via the scenic route through Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
On arrival, check in at the park offices and begin your game drive across the endless plains of Serengeti. Witness wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles moving in large herds as part of their migration.
You’ll also spot predators such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, and various birds. The game drive will take about three to four hours before returning to your lodge for lunch and rest.
Day 3: Morning Game Drive in Serengeti & Travel to Ngorongoro Crater
Start the day with an early breakfast before setting out for a morning game drive in Serengeti. This drive gives you a chance to see animals that are more active in the morning, such as hyenas, buffaloes, elephants, and rhinos.
After about four hours of game viewing, return to your lodge, check out, and drive to Ngorongoro Crater.
On arrival, check in at your lodge and spend the afternoon relaxing or take an optional visit to nearby local communities. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 4: Explore Ngorongoro Crater & Return to Arusha
After breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater with your local guide for a half-day exploration.
The crater is home to thousands of animals, including lions, elephants, rhinos, hippos, hyenas, and various birds like hammerkops and kingfishers. Learn about the crater’s history, formation, and rich ecosystem.
Enjoy a picnic lunch near the hippo pool before returning to the lodge to collect your luggage.
Drive back to Arusha, where you can take a short city tour or proceed to the airport for your flight home.
