Detailed 3-Day Tanzania Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Tarangire National Park & Afternoon Game Drive
After arrival in Arusha, or after being picked up by your driver guide, start your journey to Tarangire National Park, the sixth-largest park in Tanzania.
The park is famous for its large herds of elephants and ancient baobab trees that dominate the landscape.
During your afternoon game drive, expect to see animals like giraffes, impalas, elands, Grant’s gazelles, dik-diks, olive baboons, vervet monkeys, and banded mongooses.
After the game drive, return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Morning Game Drive in Tarangire & Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in Tarangire National Park, where you can spot more wildlife before heading to Lake Manyara National Park.
This park is known for its tree-climbing lions, found only here and in Uganda’s Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Upon arrival, take an afternoon game drive and spot Masai giraffes, hippos, impalas, gazelles, lions, leopards, cheetahs, and many bird species, including flamingos.
The game drive will last about two hours or more, after which you will check into your lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 3: Final Game Drive & Return to Arusha
After breakfast, enjoy your final game drive in Lake Manyara National Park.
This is another chance to see some of Tanzania’s most famous wildlife, including lions, leopards, buffalos, rhinos, wildebeests, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, and colorful birds.
After the game drive, you will start your journey back to Arusha, where you’ll be dropped off at the airport or your hotel.
