Detailed 10-Day Tanzania Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Drive to Arusha

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where a professional driver-guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha. Spend the rest of the day relaxing before your adventure begins the next morning.

Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park & Afternoon Game Drive

After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park, home to the famous tree-climbing lions. Arrive in time for lunch and then head out for a game drive. Expect to see elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, and many antelopes. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive & Transfer to Serengeti

Have an early breakfast, then enjoy another game drive in Lake Manyara National Park before driving to Serengeti National Park, known for its endless plains and rich wildlife. Arrive in the evening and check in at your lodge for rest.

Day 4: Full-Day Game Drive in Serengeti

After breakfast, set out for a full-day game drive in Serengeti. This is one of the highlights of your safari. Watch the wildebeest migration (seasonal) and spot animals such as elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, zebras, wildebeests, and buffaloes. Bird species to look out for include vultures, hornbills, parrots, and sparrows. Return to your lodge for dinner.

Day 5: Second Day in Serengeti

Enjoy another full day in Serengeti. Have an early morning game drive and later lunch in the bush before continuing with your wildlife adventure. Spot cheetahs, lions, leopards, and hyenas roaming the open plains. Return to the lodge in the evening for relaxation.

Day 6: Drive to Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, depart Serengeti and drive to Ngorongoro Crater. Along the way, enjoy views of forests, Masai villages, and open landscapes. Arrive in Ngorongoro in time for lunch and spend the afternoon relaxing at your lodge or taking a short game drive near the crater.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive & Transfer to Tarangire

Start your day with breakfast and descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. The crater is home to a wide range of wildlife, including elephants, lions, rhinos, leopards, buffaloes, and many antelopes. After lunch, continue your journey to Tarangire National Park for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 8: Full Day in Tarangire National Park

Spend the day exploring Tarangire National Park, known for its large herds of elephants and scenic baobab trees. You will see giraffes, zebras, lions, leopards, wildebeests, hyenas, cheetahs, and elands. After the evening game drive, return to your lodge for dinner.

Day 9: More Game Viewing in Tarangire National Park

Enjoy another game drive in Tarangire to spot animals you may have missed earlier. Expect to see elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, hartebeests, and waterbucks. Later, relax at your lodge and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of Tarangire.

Day 10: Drive Back to Arusha

After breakfast, check out of your lodge and drive back to Arusha, a journey of about 3 to 4 hours. You will be dropped off at your hotel or transferred to the airport for your flight home.
