This is a historical tour since it’s taking you to one of the oldest towns in Africa that was built in the early 1880s during the time of early explorers and Arabs. The town derives its name from the buildings that were built from Coral reefs / stones.
The main activity that you will take part in will be a city walk to visit places like old churches, slave market, local food and fresh markets, spice farm tour won’t be missed during this tour as well. On the last day, you will enjoy one of the most prominent beaches in Zanzibar and have an option of swimming, short boat cruise and more.
Day 1: Arrival in Zanzibar and visit local markets in Stone Town
Be picked up on your arrival and transferred to stone town at any hotel where you will spend a night. You will local markets which display and sell fresh fruits, spices and many more like the Zanzibar clothes. Among the markets that will be visited include the Darajani market.
At night there is Forodhani night food market which rewards with different dishes such as Zanzibar pizza, seafood, chapatti and others. Enjoy the sunset at this point and it is a great time for photography.
Day 2: Full-day Stone town walking tour
The driver guide will take you to the starting point where you will meet the local guide to take you for a full-day walk in Stone town. Trek the different attractions such as old Fort, a remarkable place known to be the largest building in Zanzibar, the churches, museum, markets, art and gallery Centers, and others.
This tour will also include taking a spice tour where you visit various gardens for different spices. Learn about the different spices and their history about how they came to Zanzibar, taste, touch and smell. The tour will end after tasting some of the local dishes where these spices are used.
Day 3: Leisure at the beach and fly back home
Start the day with a lazy morning breakfast and then have a great time at one of the beaches on the coast of Indian ocean. Embark on a short boat cruise, swim in the blue waters and then transfer back to the airport. The tour will end after airport drop-off.
