2 Days Stone Town & Historical Tour In Zanzibar Island

The 2-day tour offers a complete exploration of Zanzibar’s capital – Stone Town. Also referred to as the Old Town, Stone Town lies along the Western coast of Unguja, Zanzibar’s main Island. It is a remarkable historical town, most popular for its narrow streets, unique architectural designs of Arab, Europeans, African, Persian- all fused together; palm beaches and beautiful corals. Stone Town is a recognized UNESCO World Heritage Site and features among the iconic attractions in Tanzania.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Pick up at a hotel & enjoy sightseeing

After a relaxed morning breakfast, begin your long excursion in Stone Town. The morning session includes visiting landmarks in the city including the House of Wonders, Old Dispensary, and Old Fort. In the afternoon, experience what present-day life is like in Zanzibar city. Have a taste of local cuisines, especially at the Forodhani Gardens Food Market and a lot more, then later in the night, dine in the ancient city while overviewing the ocean. There are plenty of clubs, bars, and lounges to experience the nightlife but enjoy while respecting the Islamic culture.

Other places of interest within Stone town include the Palace Museum where you can explore more about the Sultans of Zanzibar, enjoy the sunset drinks at the African house hotel, visit the religious buildings, explore Stone Town’s narrow streets, and visit the Prison Island, etc.

Day 02: Visit the Island & Departure

A heavy breakfast in the morning, after, embark on a half-day tour in the Zanzibar archipelago. Relax on the beautiful tropical beaches, sail to some of the islets, and in the afternoon, visit the Darajani market or cultural art center within the city. Get back and relax at the pre-booked accommodation before transferring to Abeid Amani Karume Airport for departure in the evening.
