Detailed 6 Days Mount Elgon & Kidepo Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kampala
Begin to understand what a fantastic vacation really means on your first day.
Our knowledgeable driver guide will greet you and provide a briefing regarding this country, the city, and other matters as you arrive in the Pearl of Africa.
Following the briefing, you may embark on a tour of Kampala city that includes various stops at the national museum, African craft market, and other locations.
Return to the hotel for dinner and a restful sleep after a city trip that includes lunch at Ndere Cultural Center.
Day 2: Kampala to Mount Elgon National Park
Wake up to a delicious breakfast at a hotel today, and then set out on a road trip to eastern Uganda.
The journey, which passes through the Mabira forest, sugar cane estates, and tea plantations, lasts for about 5 to 6 hours.
You will travel down a busy road where you will interact with and purchase goods from roadside vendors, including roasted chicken, Gonjja (plantains), and other foodstuffs.
Your lunch stop will be in Mbale City, followed by checking in at the lodge in the evening for supper and a well-deserved sleep.
Day 3: Explore Mount Elgon and Sipi Falls Hike
Begin a spectacular journey at Mount Elgon to Sipi Falls after a daybreak breakfast buffet at the lodge.
You can see magnificent scenery, plantations, caves, and rocks throughout the seven-hour hike.
Your tour guide will discuss the uniqueness of Mount Elgon, its stunning caldera, and bamboo farms at its base.
There are several species of vegetation, birds, and plants to watch out for.
Before visiting the romantic Sipi Falls, you will take a lunch break.
Here, you can view the tall, powerful falls, snap pictures, take a bath, and more.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Depart Mount Elgon for Kidepo Valley National Park
Enjoy your breakfast after a very early morning awakening at the stroke of dawn.
A beautiful trip to Kidepo Valley National Park, the farthest Savannah park in Uganda, begins immediately after breakfast.
The journey takes between 7 and 9 hours, with a stop at Nyero Rock Paintings to see the caves and historic artwork.
Before continuing the trip to your lodge in or near Kidepo Valley National Park, there is one more stop for lunch.
Take a calm siesta after dinner to relax.
Day 5: Full Day Game Drive
A stunning sunrise will greet you as you awaken in the picturesque Narus Valley.
You can begin watching the game at the Narus viewpoint.
The observation point is situated such that you may take pictures of the stunning sunrise, animals running toward the pasture, and more.
The game drive will last the entire day, and lunch and breakfast will be served outside.
Animals like the ostrich, Egyptian geese, and other birds, the distinctive barrasa and a whistling acacia, primates, and more can all be found in Kidepo.
If not, you will have a morning game drive from roughly 6:30 am to 9:00 am and an evening session from 15:00 to 17:00 for three to four hours.
Lunch and breakfast will be served during the drive.
The day closes with dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 6: Departure Back to Kampala
You will leave the lodge after a breakfast feast at sunrise and have a long trip to Kampala or Entebbe to be dropped off.
Stop for lunch and refreshments in Gulu city, one of the northern cities in Uganda.
The scenery, hills, small and big plantations are found along this gorgeous highway.
