Tanzania Visa
Tanzania is one of the best tourism destinations in Africa, attracting thousands of tourists to the country every year. The exotic wildlife, unique white sand beaches, Africa’s highest mountain, hospitable people, and outstanding cultures make the country a must-visit for many travelers.
Tanzania Visa
Visitors should always cross-check if their countries are exempt from obtaining a visa when entering Tanzania for a stay of up to 30 days. The processing time for a visa is between 5 to 10 working days and could be delayed if the applicant hasn’t provided accurate information.
Obtaining a Tanzanian visa has been made easy through online e-visa applications. All you need to do is visit the e-visa application page, select the type of visa you need, fill in the visa application form, submit the required documents, and patiently wait for an email to confirm if you’re eligible to receive the visa.
A visa is a conditional authorization granted to a foreigner to allow them entry, stay, and departure from a particular country. Before applying for a visa, you should be aware of the types of visas offered in the country. Below, we can see some types of visas in Tanzania:
Single Entry Visa: A single entry visa is issued to foreigners who want to visit the country for tourism, holidays, or to visit friends and family. A single entry visa is usually valid for only 90 days.
Multiple Entry Visa: Multiple entry visas are issued to foreigners who want to visit Tanzania occasionally for different purposes. Multiple entry visas do not allow the foreigner to stay in the country for consecutive 12 months, but the foreigner must leave the country after every 3 months and return. Multiple entry visas are valid for a period of 12 months only.
Transit Visa: Transit visas are granted to visitors transiting through Tanzania before reaching their final destination. This visa is not valid for other purposes in the country and is strictly for transit.
Student Visa: Student visas are issued to international students who come to study in Tanzania. The validity of a student visa is only 2 years.
Business Visa: Business visas are issued to foreigners who want to visit Tanzania for business purposes only. This visa is valid for a period of 90 days.
Gratis Visa: Gratis visas are only issued to holders of diplomatic services or official passports who are on duty in Tanzania. This type of visa can be issued for single entry or multiple entries.
To be able to obtain a visa in Tanzania, you need to have a valid passport for at least six months, a clean criminal record, proof of accommodation, a letter of invitation from a friend or relative in Tanzania, valid health insurance, a fee payment receipt, a return flight ticket, a fully completed visa application form, a marriage certificate if the visitor is entering Tanzania to meet their spouse, a work contract or any document showing the visitor will visit Tanzania for work purposes, an ongoing flight ticket for transit visas, and a letter issued by a school in Tanzania for student visas.
