We arrange the best hiking safaris in Tanzania to some of the country’s greatest attractions like like Mount Kilimanjaro.

Tanzania Hiking & Mountain Climbing Safaris

Mount Kilimanjaro is the tallest untouched magma volcano in the world attracting thousands of adventurous hikers every year. The hiking commences on the valleys of banana plantations and proceed to the thickets, through the thick forested vegetation and reaching the summit of Kibo and Mawenzi. The hike is conducted with the help of a game ranger who is fully armed in case of any security threat during the adventure. Potters are available to help you in case you have luggage.

Mount Meru is the second highest peak in Tanzania after Kilimanjaro which offers a magnificent scenic trek on the top. Mount Meru is part of the northern based Arusha National Park, and all trekkers are guided by mountain guides / rangers who are assigned to them at the entry points. The hiking experience starts in prairie and lavish backwoods on the mountain's lower inclines, hiking through beautiful knolls and completing with an emotional and invigorating stroll along the blade edge of Meru's peak. Full hiking expedition takes only 6 days to reach the summit and therefore it is considered to be lighter than Kilimanjaro which takes 9 days.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area

This conservation area is located in the Northern circuit of Tanzania and it covers an area of about 3200 sq.km. It is a pool to savannah woodlands, grassland plains, volcanic crater lakes, forests, and plateaux. Hiking Ngorongoro crater takes 4-5 days passing through the plains, forest, and savannah up to the summit as you are sighting the Masai people. The summit rewards you with beautiful scenery of landscape, different animals such as giraffes, and buffalos among others.

Udzungwa Mountains

It is termed as a paradise for hikers because of its most outstanding scenery and wilderness with unique wildlife species in Africa. It is usually referred to as the Galapagos of Africa, as well containing a strong waterfall. The trails are quite many and they range from 20minutes to 5 days’ hike where you will spot many animals such as the monkeys, elephants, different bird species, and plant species such as the lush forests. You are advised to carry your tent as you come to hike this mountain. Hiking in the Udzungwa Mountains can be carried out throughout the year but it is advised to be done in dry seasons from October to march. In March to May, much rain is experienced which hinder hiking activities. For more about hiking and climbing safaris in Tanzania, contact us for more answers to your questions and bookings.
