Day 1: Burundi to Gombe Stream National Park in Tanzania
Your tour guide driver will pick you up from your hotel in Bujumbura after your breakfast, and you will start your scenic road trip towards Tanzania.
Crossing the Kagunga border into Tanzania, you will embark on a 2-hour boat ride to Gombe National Park.
Arriving in the afternoon, you will check in at your accommodation and enjoy lunch, after which you will head out for an afternoon chimpanzee trekking experience in the untamed forest of Gombe National Park.
Dinner and overnight back at the lodge or bandas.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking in Gombe Stream National Park
After your breakfast, you will go on a morning chimpanzee trek that usually starts at 8:30 am.
As you search for the chimpanzees, look out for other primates like baboons, colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, among others.
Time permitting, you will visit the Kakombe Falls and also take a hike to Jane’s Peak.
