Detailed 4-Day Kruger Park & Private Lodge Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Johannesburg to Kruger National Park and afternoon game drive
Upon arrival in Johannesburg, a professional guide will receive you at the airport to embark on the journey to Kruger National Park.
The drive to Kruger National Park will take you approximately 52 minutes since it is in the surroundings of Johannesburg.
Drive to the lodge on arrival in the National Park and sign in.
Relax in your rooms at the lodge as you revel in the ambient environment at the lodge.
Later in the afternoon, enjoy a delectable lunch. An evening walk will be conducted in the surroundings of the lodge that will allow you feel the breeze of the National Park and reconnect with nature.
On this walking safari, you will observe a number of bird species including the sunbirds, hammerkop, African fish eagles, turacos, Abyssinian ground hornbill, black bee eaters, cinnamons, African paradise flycatcher, African darters and owls.
Transfer back to the lodge at twilight for a well prepared evening meal and night time rest.
Day 2: Full day in Kruger National Park. Three game drives
When the sun is up, you will serve a mouthwatering breakfast which you will enjoy as you view sunrise over the park’s wilderness.
Undertake sunrise game drive that will present to you the views of numerous animals within Kruger National Park especially the big 5 animals, spotted hyenas, Defassa waterbucks, common elands, warthogs, baboons and zebras.
The game drive will go on up to the mid morning when you will transfer to the lodge, relax in your rooms as the professional staff prepare to serve you or delicious lunch.
Feast on the lunch at the lodge and after embark on an afternoon game drive.
This game drive will provide additional chances for you to view the animals within the National Park and the rare plant species especially the riverine forests, baobab, mixed acacia thickets and mopani shrub.
Delicious snacks will be served in the bush in the evening as you view the sites of Kruger.
Undertake the sunset game drive until it’s dark.
The sunset game drive will allow you to see the lions of Kruger National Park, leopards and hyenas.
Transfer to the lodge when it gets dark for dinner and rest for the night.
Day 3: Morning game drive in central Kruger National Park. Exit to a Private Game Reserve
An early meal will be served at sun up at the lodge after which you will check out and go on a morning game drive in the central province of Kruger National Park.
Savor the views of different animals in this province that will keep you occupied the entire morning.
Exit Kruger National Park to Timbavati private game reserve at noon.
Transfer to the lodge on arrival in the game reserve to get served a delicious meal.
Proceed on an afternoon game drive in Timbavati Private Game Reserve for opportunities to explore it to the fullest and observe the various wildlife species within.
The game reserve is a perfect spot for visitors to view the big 5 animals and other cute rare creatures especially the common elands, warthogs, Defassa waterbucks, common genets, bushbucks and hyenas.
Relax in the bush entire evening and feast on the snacks that will be provided to keep you energetic during game drives.
A sunset game drive will then be conducted in the reserve that will allow you view more of its endowments especially the cats as they undertake their hunts.
Head back to the lodge at twilight, get served the scrumptious dinner and have an overnight rest.
Day 4: Sunrise game drive. Transfer back to Johannesburg.
Breakfast will be served at crack of dawn at the lodge within the reserve.
Thereafter, proceed for the sunrise game drive to Timbavati private game reserve for additional observation of animals within and beautiful bird species like the barn owls, lanner Falcons, red billed teals, green turacos, Abyssinian ground hornbill, black bee eaters, cinnamons, egrets, secretary birds, African fish eagles, great blue turacos and piapiacs.
Drive back to the lodge in mid-morning to pack your luggage and check out of the lodge.
Embark on the drive to OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg which will take you approximately 52 minutes.
At the airport, you will catch a flight back home.
