Take part in our 3-day Toubkal hike from Marrakech across the Atlas Mountains. On this three-day hike to Mount Toubkal, you will see both berber communities and the high Atlas highlands.
On this three-day toubkal safari into the wilderness, ascend to Mt. Toubkal and explore some of the region’s most breathtaking locations, such as the Imlil Valley, the Toubkal Massif, the Sidi Chamarouch shrine, and the summit of Jbel Toubkal.
The itinerary for the trek is as follows: on the first day, you will be picked up from your Marrakech lodging. You begin your trek to Mount Toubkal at Imlil Valley, 1740 meters above sea level for a 1 hour and 30 minutes journey. Our local team, which consists of mule drivers who will lead you on the Trek and an English-speaking guide, will greet you when you arrive in this stunning valley. After that, before you begin your hike, you will be served a welcome mint tea at a guesthouse. Following a map presentation by your local guide, you begin your trek in the direction of the basecamp. You will pause for a delectable lunch at the Chamharouch Shrine after around two hours of walking. You will eventually continue walking uphill to reach the refuge. The hike today will take between five and six hours. Spend the night at the shelter.
You will begin your ascent the following morning after an early breakfast at the shelter. There will be an incline and difficult terrain during the ascent. Typically, the walk up takes three hours. It’s worth it since you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the high Atlas Mountains once you reach the summit. Following a brief rest at the summit, you will descend using the same route to the basecamp, where you can unwind and eat lunch. Once more, overnight. The hike today will take between six and seven hours.
On your final day, you’ll eat breakfast and then take the same journey back down to Imlil. There, you’ll have lunch at a guesthouse before making your way back to Marrakech. The hike today will take four to five hours, including a one and a half-hour journey to Marrakech.
