14 DAYS GRAND MOROCCO TOUR ITINERARY FROM CASABLANCA.
On this 14 day and 13 night Morocco tour, you will visit all the amazing places in Morocco. Beginning in the north of Morocco, you will visit Casablanca, Rabat, Chefchaouen, Volubilis Roman ruins, Meknes the capital of Ismaili, Fes the cultural capital. Then, in the south, you will visit MoroCco Ifrane, Cedars Forest, Midelt, Zizvalley, Rissani traditional market, Erfoud the fossil town, Merzouga the Sahara desert, camel rides, luxury camp in the middle of desert, magical sunset and sunrise in the Sahara, Todra & Dades Gorges, Kasbah of Ait ben Haddou, cross the High Atlas mountain, Tizi n-Tichka pass, and finally, a guided tour in Marrakech & Essaouira. The tour will end in Casablanca.
Day 1
On day 1 of your 14 day grand Morocco tour itinerary, we will pick you up from the airport, port or your accommodation in the city of Casablanca. Casablanca is the economic center of Morocco and the largest city in the country. On the first day, we will visit the Hassan ll mosque which is the largest mosque in Morocco. It is located on the west coast of the city, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.On a promontory overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, we will have free time for lunch. After lunch, we will explore the city. We will also visit the famous Cornish of Morocco. Overnight in a hotel in Casablanca
Day 2
After breakfast, we’ll take a coastal drive to Rabat, one of the largest and most important cities in Morocco and the current capital. We’ll visit some of the city’s highlights, such as Hassan tower, the mausoleum of mohammed v and the kasbah of oudaya. Free lunch. Then, in the afternoon, we’ll head north to the beautiful seaside city of Assilah, where we’ll spend the night in a hotel.
Day 3
Following breakfast, we will leave Assilah and drive along the coast to Tangier, also known as “the Bride of the North”. Tangier is located where the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean meet, at the Strait of Gibraltar, where Cape Spartel is located. On the way, we will visit the beautiful city of Tangier, as well as the Cave of Hercules and the cape Spartel. After lunch, we will drive inland, passing through Tetouan and the Rif mountains, making several stops along the way for breathtaking views.We will spend the night at a hotel in chefchaouen.
Day 4
Following breakfast, we will visit the blue city of Chefchaouen, also known as Achaoun (meaning horns in Berber). The city is situated in the northwest of Morocco, in the foothills of the Rif mountains, and is renowned for its white and blue buildings and alleyways. First, we will take a stroll in its charming old Medina, which is full of authentic blue doors and a whitewashed wall. There is free time for lunch. Then, in the afternoon, we will hike to the Spanishmosque, where we will have lunch on a high point, with a spectacular view of the whole blue city below. Finally, we will return to our hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 5
After breakfast, take a leisurely stroll through the beautiful streets of the blue city of Chefchaouen. From there, we drive to the ancient Roman ruins at Volubilis, which is well preserved and recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. There are many beautiful mosaics scattered throughout the ruins, as well as ancient columns and arches. After walking around the ruins, we will drive 30 km to Meknes, the capital of the Ismailis and one of the imperial cities. Here, we will visit Bab al-Mansour and Sahrij souani basin, as well as the Royal stables, granary and the mausoleum of the moulay Ismail. From there, we will drive to Fes, where we will stay overnight in a riad.
Day 6
On day 6 of this 14-day grand Morocco tour, we will visit Fes city to see the highlights. Fes city is considered one of the emperors cities in addition to being the cultural and religious capital of Morocco cco. We will start the day at the Royal Palace gate and then visit the well preserved medieval Medina, which is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. You will be accompanied by a local guide and will visit the blue gate or bab Boujloud which is the entrance of the old Medina. The old Medina is a maze of streets and alleyways. You will enter Medina and visit Medersa Bouanania, Najjarine Fountain, the Tanneries and finally the Qaraouin mosque and university, which is the oldest university of the world. Then we will leave Medina and visit the Jewish Quarter also known as “the Mellah ”. In the afternoon we will drive to an old fortress for a panoramic view of Medina and Fes city and finally, back to vour riad.
Day 7
After breakfast, we will drive south through Imouzzer to the town of Ifrane. The town is renowned for its cold weather, snow and alpine-style houses – no wonder it is known as the Switzerland of Morocco. Then, we will continue to the cedars forest, where Barbary macaques can be found. Feel free to feed them while wandering in the forest. Later we will drive to Midelt, where we will have a break for lunch.
From Midelt, we will drive to the Merzouga area, passing through the Tizi-n Tilghman through the Ziz valley, with stops for spectacular views. In the afternoon, we will arrive at the Sahara desert of MerzOUga, where you will switch to camels, and cross over the sandy desert. At the end of the day, you will make a stop at the top of the high dune to enjoy the sunset. Finally, you will continue to the camp, which combines the traditional tent of nomads with the luxury of a hotel, where you can listen to Berber drums music and dance around the campfire under the vast open sky full of stars.Dinner and overnight in the hotel.
Day 8
Getting up early is a must, to take in the stunning sunrise in the center of the desert, free time for breakfast, then you return on camels to merzouga where the driver awaits you. On day 8 of your 14 days grand Morocco tour we take the opportunity to explore the region of merzouga which has so many incredible sites such as:sand dunes, wild lake, mines, fossil areas, fascinating oases, perfect places for all kinds of outdoor activities.
We begin our journey in Merzouga by going offroad to see an ancient eyeliner mine, then pay a visit to the nomads in a handmade woven tent, where we learn about their lives while drinking a berber tea. Our next stop is the hamlet of khamlia village, where you can enjoy the live music and dancing performances of the nomads of sub-Saharan countries such as Mali, Sudan, and Niger. Free time for lunch at a restaurant, then we take a stroll in a palm tree grove, then drive a few kilometers to view the wild lake (also known as flamingos lake). Finally, back to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay
Day 9
After breakfast we will leave the desert and make our way to the ancient town of Rissani, the capital of the region, which is still one of the main trading centers in the area, with a lively souk every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. We will then continue to Erfoud, where we will visit a workshop of fossilized marble, and then drive through the palm groves of Touroug, Tinjdad, and the Todra gorges, where the course of the river Todra has carved out a large red cliff sided canyon. These gorges are a great place for rock climbers, so feel free to wander around and enjoy the scenery. We will then have free time for lunch at a restaurant. We will inevitably make a stop at the “monkey fingers’ ‘ rock formation, and also at a place atop a mountain overlooking the valley of the Dades. Finally, we will have dinner and a sleepover at a hotel.
Day 10
Following breakfast, we drive to the Rose valley, where the Rose Festival takes place every year in May. Here, the locals sell their rose products from perfumes to rose water, rose oil, and cosmetic products. We drive through the Skoura palm groves, before reaching the town of Ouarzazat, where we will visit the studios where many famous movies were filmed.
We then drive to Ait Ben Haddou, famous for the Kasbah, a fortified village recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Kasbah has been used in many movies such as Gladiator, Alexander, the Mummy… etc., as well as TV series including Game of Thrones. From there, we drive through the tizi-n-tichka pass and the high atlas mountains, stopping for lunch and taking pictures at some interesting places. Finally, we will have an overnight stay in a riad in marrakech.
Day 11
After a hearty breakfast, we’ll be visiting the city’s highlights with a local guide. Marrakesh is one of the four emperors’ cities in Morocco and we’ll visit the Bahia palace saadian, the Ben youssef quranic mosque, and take a walk in the biggest souk in Morocco. Free lunch near the jemaa e-fna square. You’ll then visit the koutoubia quranic mosque the biggest in marrakesh and the majorelle gardens. Finally, you’ll be transferred to your accommodation and free to wander around in jemaa el-fna on your own.
Day 12
After breakfast, we will drive west to the city of Essaouira. Along the way, we will make several stops to admire the goats of the Argan trees and enjoy panoramic views. Finally, we arrive at the city, formerly known as Mogador. Essaouira is one of the most important coastal towns in Morocco. During the journey, we will visit the fishing port and the old ramparts with cannons, as well as the old Medina. Finally, we will transfer to your hotel where you will spend the night.
Day 13
After breakfast, we leave Essaouira and return to Marrakech by car, stopping for picturesque views along the way. At the end of the day, you can enjoy a leisurely stroll in the renowned Jemaa el-Fna square before spending the night in a riad.
Day 14
On the final day of your 14 day Morocco tour from Casablanca, depending on your flight time, we’ll pick you up at the airport in Marrakech to wrap up your tour.
