19 DAY ANDASIBE-BAOBAB ALLEY-KIRINDY-TSINGY-IFATY.
This tour includes Andasibe national park, baobab avenue, kirindy forest reserve, tsingy de bemaraha national park, renomafana national anja community reserve, isalo national park, and renial park. Enjoy snorkeling and diving on the beach in Ifaty during your first day in antananarivo.
Day 1
On the first day, we will be waiting for you at the airport with your name on a sign. We will pick you up from the airport and take you to your hotel where we will give you a detailed briefing about your journey and answer your questions about your adventure.You will have an overnight stay at Chalet des roses hotel or similar.
Day 2
After breakfast, embark on a city tour to visit the antananarivo market and take a short tour around the queen’s palace, where you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about the history of Madagascar. From there, you’ll make your way to the Andasibe region, passing through stunning landscapes and mountains, as well as charming villages. You’ll stop for lunch along the way.Once you arrive in the Andasibe area, you are transferred to your hotel where you rest as you prepare for the night walk. Enjoy a night stroll to observe the active night lemur, frog and chameleon species.
Day 3
Today you will spend a full day at Andasibe – Mantadia National Park, where the primary forests are thickly covered with lignin, moss and fern trees, as well as over a hundred orchids. The park is home to several species of lemur, including the largest of them all, the Indri-Indri, the diademed Sifaka, the common brown Lemur and the bamboo lemur, as well as the sportive Lemur. Other plants that thrive here include pandanus, the roman palm tree, the Tambourissa palm tree, the bamboo and some rare wood, such as palisander or ebony. In addition to this, the park is home to 15 other mammal species and over 100 species of birds, many of which are endemic to Madagascar, including the Malagasy yellow brow. Later in the day, you will travel to the reserve of Vakona, where you will be able to play with lemurs as well as observe many crocodiles, whistling ducks and kingfishers, as well as other bird species.You will spend the night at Andasibe and Lemurs Lodge
Day 4
After breakfast, you will depart for Antsirabe and in the meantime, you will visit the reptile park where you will see various types of reptiles such as Chameleons, Geckos, Snakes, Crocodiles, Frogs and one of the biggest butterflies in Madagascar as well as two different species of Lemurs. This excursion will take about 2 hours and then you will continue on your way, passing through Antananarivo on the way.Once you have left Antananarivo, you will take the national road 7 (RN7), where you will make a quick stop at the town of Ambatolampy for a short visit at a pottery factory, after which you will have lunch and then continue on your way.When you reach Antsirabe, you will check in to your hotel and rest for the evening.You spend the night in Antsirabe at vatolahy hotel
Day 5
Start your day with a visit to the horn of zebu factory and miniature factories before heading to morondava. Along the way you will enjoy the beautiful scenery of the southwest with many villages and people. You will see many zebus and baobabs a few kilometers before morondava. Spend the night in morondava at vezo beach hotel or similar
Day 6
You will leave Morondava after breakfast and drive to the kirindy forest, where you will see a variety of animals, birds and plants, including the well-known fossa and giant baobab. Driving through the amazing baobabs avenue, you will pause for a few moments to enjoy the view and then continue on your way to kirindy reserve. During the night, you will take a night stroll to observe several species of night lemurs/sleeping birds and geckos, and spend the night in kirindy at relais de kirindy hotel.
Day 7
After breakfast you will go to Kirindy forest where you will see several types of lemur, the well-known fossa, and many other bird species.
After your visit you will go to the entrance of the national park of Tsingyu (Bekopaka).
On the way you will discover various villages and cross two rivers on the ferry boats.
After the first ferry you will have your lunch and then continue your way to the national park.
A few minutes before you arrive at your hotel you will again cross another river on the ferry and then go to your hotel, Orchidée du Bemaraha hotel in Bekopaka where you will spend the night.
Day 8
On this day, you will experience the wonders of nature and discover the wonders of Tsingy (Bemaraha) National Park. This park is classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, and is the largest protected area in Madagascar. You will see the “cathedral”, the “viewpoint” and the hanging bridge, as well as many of the native animals that inhabit this area, including the “Sifaka Lemur” and the “Common Brown Lemur”. You will also encounter wild birds and, if you are fortunate, the “Fossa”, Madagascar’s largest carnivore. Throughout the day, you will encounter various types of native plants, including the “palissandre”. Lunch will be served in the park, and after lunch, you can continue your tour into the smaller part of the park, or you can stay in your hotel and relax. You will stay overnight at the Orchidée de Bhemaraha hotel (Bekopaka).
Day 9
After breakfast on this day, you will start your drive south towards the city of morondava. Along the way, you will be able to witness the ‘In love baobab’, which is a unique sight of two big baobabs growing together, symbolizing the love between two lovers. Many couples come to this area to renew their marriage vows. Once you reach the city, you will take a drive to admire one of Madagascar’s most popular sunsets: the sunset at baobab alley. This area has been home to baobabs for over 800 years, making it one of Madagascar’s most popular attractions. After your sunset experience at the baobab alley, you will take another drive to your last destination on the day: morondava. You will stay the night in Morondava at vezo beach hotel or another similar hotel.
Day 10
After breakfast, you’ll be on your way back to antsirabe, where you’ll visit many villages, including schools, and enjoy the semi-desert landscape. Alternatively, you can stay in your car and relax. You will spend the night in Antsirabe at Vatolahy hotel.
Day 11
In the morning of your eleventh day, you’ll wake up early and have breakfast at your hotel. Then, you’ll get ready for your city tour, which will take you to Zebu Horne, Half Precious Stone Workshop, and then a rickshaw ride. After the city tour, you’ll keep going on route 7, heading to the national park, where you’ll meet different locals with their terraced rice paddies on the way. When you get to the Ambositra area, you’ll make a stop at a wood-based art factory. After that, you’ll keep driving to the national park of Ranomafana. In the evening, you’ll have a night stroll in Ranomafana, where you’ll be able to see many species of animals, such as the frog, chameleon, night-active lemurs, and more.You’ll be spending the night at the Centrest hotel.
Day 12
Today, you will spend a full day in this magnificent rainforest National Park, one of the biggest rainforests in Madagascar. During your stay, you will be able to observe a variety of lemur species, as well as a variety of birds and plants. You will also be able to witness waterfalls. Later in the day, you can choose to spend some time swimming I’m the natural spring pool, or visit the botanical garden where you will see some more Chameleons.You will be able to stay overnight at Centrest or other similar hotels.
Day 13
Start your day with breakfast at your hotel and then leave early in the morning for Ranohira. Along the way, you’ll visit Anja Park a community-managed nature reserve where you’ll be able to take pictures of hundreds of adorable Ringtail lemurs from different groups. You’ll also have the chance to photograph chameleons, such as Oustalet’s Chameleons, for unique wildlife photography. After lunch, you’ll drive to the gateway of Isalo National Park, and then spend the night in Ranohira Satrana Lodge hotel, or similar.
Day 14
In the morning, you’ll have a leisurely breakfast and then head to the world-renowned lagoons and natural parks of La Placita Naturelle and Namazacanyon where you’ll explore stunning landscapes with stunning rock formations and learn about the culture of the local Bara tribe. Along the way, you may see Ringtail lemur and endemic birds. You can arrange a picnic lunch at the park’s blue or black swimming pool. After lunch, you will continue your hike and then drive back to your hotel in the afternoon.You’ll spend the night in the beautiful and picturesque town of Ranohira (Satrana Lodge Hotel or similar).
Day 15
You’ll start your day with breakfast at your hotel. Then, you’ll take a 5-hour drive to the start of National Road 7, where you’ll have the opportunity to take pictures of Mahafaly’s colourful tombs with baobabs painted on them. You’ll also make a stop for a walking safari to see the local endemics, such as Verreaux’sifaka lemurs, Hubbert’s Sportive Lemurs, and reptiles like Chameleons, and you’ll be able to take pictures of them all. The highlight of your 5-hour journey will be a visit to Antsokaya’s arboretum. You’ll spend the night at Ifaty’s La Bella Donna hotel or another similar one.
Day 16-17
On these days you will have free time at the beach at Ifaty. You can explore the nearby baobab forest or go and engage in one of the various activities including snorkeling or scuba diving. You will stay overnight at the hotel La Bella Donna in ifaty.
Day 18
Enjoy a leisurely start to your day at your beach-front hotel. After your leisurely start, you will travel to Toliara for lunch. From there, you will drive to the airport, where you will board a domestic flight to your Antananarivo. Upon arrival, you’ll be picked up and taken to your hotel,Chalet des Roses or similar where you will have dinner and stay for the night.
Day 19
On the last day of your trip (and our last day together), you will have the opportunity to spend a free morning shopping for souvenirs to bring home with you. During your shopping excursion, you will see Malagasy handicrafts, spices, vanilla and much more. After shopping, you will be ready to depart to the airport in Ivato. You will arrive 2 hours before your scheduled departure time.
