Rwenzori View Guest House is situated in the outskirts of Fort Portal Town, in the western part of Uganda near Kibale Forest National Park. Kibale Forest National Park is situated in the western part of Uganda covering an area of 795 kilometers squared, the park is endowed with about 351 species of trees with some over 200 years old and over 55 meters tall.
Rwenzori View Guest House was started by a Dutch and English couple and was designed by a Swiss architect. The lodge was opened up in 1997 and has received visitors from different parts of the world through the years. Rwenzori View Guest House is one of the budget lodges in Kibale Forest National Park.
Accommodation at Rwenzori View Guest House is provided for business and leisure travelers at the backdrop of the magnificent Rwenzori Mountains, also referred to as mountains of the moon.
The lodge is at the lush green sub hub called Boma. It is situated in a good location near the local market, golf course, town center and post office.
Accommodation is provided in 6 deluxe rooms featuring ensuite showers with hot water and clean toilets, private verandahs, beautiful gardens, free parking, Wi-Fi and DSTV amenities. They also give other services like 24/7 room service, laundry services and pet services.
Rwenzori View Guest House also organizes bird watching. There are about 70 bird species recorded within the surrounding area. You can go for bird watching expeditions at Tooro Botanical Gardens.
Their dining serves both local and international cuisine homemade meals and caters for all dietary requirements. The well stocked bar also provides both beers, wine, juice, sodas and spirits.
Rooms at the lodge cost $40 for a single room and $50 for a double room. However, you should note that prices keep changing every other time.
What to do at Rwenzori View Guest House
Chimpanzee tracking. The primary reason why people visit Kibale Forest is chimpanzee trekking. Kibale Forest National Park is the best chimpanzee tracking destination in Uganda and Africa at large. It has the highest number of Chimpanzees in the country and offers an alternate chimpanzee habituation experience. The park is also home to 12 other species of primates besides chimpanzees.
Birding. Kibale Forest National Park is a birder’s paradise endowed with 375 specie of birds. Some of the common bird species found in the park include the Pin-tailed whydah, African pied wagtail, slender billied weaver, masked apalis, grey parrot, little green bul, crowned eagle, red chested owlet, red faced woodland warbler, dusky crimson wing, scaly breasted idallopsis, western nicator, white napped pigeon and Nahans francolin among the rest.
