Paraa safari lodge is one of Uganda’s oldest and best luxurious lodges. Built in 1954 in Murchison Falls National Park; in the north western part of the country, Paraa Safari Lodge offers comfort, relaxation and adventure. The lodge is composed of 54 spacious rooms with private balconies.

The swimming pool is the best place to cool off the heat after a long day game drive at the park. There is also a near pool bar where you can order for a drink while sun-downing. The kitchen provides mouth watering menus of local and international cuisine with spectacular views of the Nile.

The business center is open from 8am to 8pm seven days a week with all business facilities and with 24 hours internet access. There is also a conference hall with all conference amenities you might need.
To use the business center or conference hall, you will need to inform the reception prior to arrival so that they get it ready.
There is also a crafts shop where you can buy souvenirs to take back home for remembrance or as gifts to your loved ones. The main bar is located at the upper flow of the lodge. It’s an ideal place to relax from after a long day.

Activities in Murchison falls
Nature guided walks. Nature guided walks can be taken in designated areas of Murchison Falls National Park from Paraa Safari Lodge down to the river observing gullies, rolling hills, birds and animals. Walks can also be done at Rabongo Forest and Kaniyo-Pabidi Forest.
Game drives. Visitors at the lodge can hire a car at Paraa Safari Lodge and get a UWA ranger to help in spotting wildlife on their Ugandan safaris. The best time for doing a game drive is in the morning and late afternoon. You will spot wildlife like Buffalos, Elephants, Oribi, Jacksons Hartebeests, Lions and many others.
Fishing. Fishing in Murchison Falls National Park can be done at designated areas and with the help of a guide. Tourists are advised to come along with their fishing gear or can hire from Paraa Safari Lodge. The common type of fish caught is Nile perch, Cat fish and many others. The biggest catch ever recorded was a Nile perch of 108 kilograms near the water falls.
Birding. Murchison Falls National Park is a birders paradise; boasting with 451 bird species recorded. The common species seen are; Martial eagle, papyrus gonolek, rare shoebill, white tailed lark, Verauxs eagle owl and many others. The best time for birding is from November to April when migratory birds are present.
