Lake Nkuruba Nature Reserve & Community Campsite is located in Kibale Forest National Park, western Uganda. Kibale Forest National Park is the number one destination for chimpanzee trekking in Uganda. The park is not only home to Chimpanzees but various wildlife, primates, birds and different plant species too.
Lake Nkuruba Nature Reserve & Community Campsite is a community based project hence, it’s a non profit lodge as all the money earned is used to support the local community in order to improve their livelihoods and support nature conservation.
Lake Nkuruba Nature Reserve & Community Campsite is located close to Kibale Forest National Park. This makes it easy for visitors to spot monkeys like Black and white colobus monkeys, red colobus monkeys and vervet monkeys within the lodge premises on some occasions.

Accommodation at Lake Nkuruba Nature Reserve & Community Campsite is provided in a camping setting with shared bathroom with hot water and toilet facilities. The Rwenzori view cottages have a view of the splendid Rwenzori Mountains range. They are self contained with hot showers and some rooms have provision for additional bed in case you need one.
Hilltop cottages are located some distance from the camping ground on a hilltop. They provide views of the nature reserve and the forest. The Lake side cottages overlook the beautiful Lake Nkuruba and are good for those who want privacy as they are located a good distance from the main camp.

Nkuruba forest
The Nkuruba forest nature guided walk takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour. On this walk, you will spot different species of birds and various monkeys.
Crater lakes
The crater lakes nature guided walk normally takes about 3 – 4 hours of exploring craters lakes and learning about how they were formed. There are also lots of birds to be seen during the tour.
Top of the world
The top of the world nature walk takes 2 – 3 hours. You walk to the view point where you see Kibale Forest National Park, 3 crater lakes and so much more.
Waterfall trek
The waterfall trek is one of the most interesting as you walk past 3 crater lakes and forests before you arrive to Muhoma waterfall. This nature guided walk takes about 6 hours.
Rwenzori Trek
The Rwenzori trek takes you to the lower slopes of Rwenzori Mountains. You also get to visit the Rwangimba hot springs. This hike normally takes a full day hence, you’ll need to pack a lot of drinks to keep you hydrated.
