Lake Mulehe Gorilla Lodge is perched on a peninsular above Lake Mulehe in Kisoro District, south west of Uganda; overlooking the Virunga Volcanoes. The lodge is located in an approximate location where you can trek mountain gorillas of Rushaga, Nkuringo and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
Accommodation at Lake Mulehe Gorilla Lodge is provided in 11 spacious well furnished rooms with en suite bathrooms running with hot and cold water. Each room provides spectacular views of the stunning Lake Mulehe and the Virunga Ranges.

Cultural tours
Visiting Bwindi Impenetrable National Park or Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is not enough until you visit the Batwa People. The Batwa people were the original people of the ancient rainforests before it was made a national park. They used to live in the forest as hunter gatherers depending on it for shelter, food and medicine. When you visit the Batwa people, you will get entertained with local traditional Batwa music and dance and also listen to their ancient forest stories about how they used to live and survive in the forests.
Mountain biking
Mountain biking can be done from Lake Mulehe Gorilla Lodge by hiring bikes at the lodge. The country side provides an excellent terrain fit for biking. You get to enjoy biking across the rolling green hills, villages and around the Lake.
Canoeing
A part from mountain biking, don’t miss to take a local dugout canoe boat to explore the Lake Mulehe. The views of the Virunga Ranges and the surrounding country side are simple irresistible with lots of water birds to be seen.
Gorilla trekking
Gorilla trekking is the primary safari activity done by visitors who stay at the lodge. Gorilla trekking always starts in the morning and takes between 2 to 7 hours depending on the speed of hikers and location of the gorilla family. Once you find the family your trekking, an hour is give for you to observe and take photos around these apes.
Gorilla habituation
Gorilla habituation is the best option for primatologists but is much more expensive. You get to spend 4 hours with mountain gorillas unlike the normal gorilla trekking experience that affords you only an hour around these gorillas.
Gorilla habituation is the process of making mountain gorillas get used to human presence. This is done by researchers and scientists for a period of 2-3 years until gorillas pass a mocking exercise then the family can be open to the public for trekking.
